She was born August 22, 1953, in Albion, Michigan. She had resided in Texas City for 17 years. A visitation was held Monday, December 20,1999, at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be today at 10:00 a.m., at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque with Msgr. T.

Joseph Culver officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Dickinson, Texas. Mrs. Arredondo had been a travel agent for 15 years for Maxine's Travel Agency in Galveston.

She was preceded in death by her father. Roberto Rios. Samford, 88, of La Marque died December 19, 1999, at Columbia Mainland Center Hospital in Texas City. She was born July 19, 1911, "in Galveston, Texas. She was a resident of La Marque for 21 years, formerly of Galveston. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Glenn Chvatal of La Marque and one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Lee Meisetschlaeger of La Marque and numerous other relatives. Michalke was born September 3,1917, in Schulenburg. He was a retired welding inspector with 33 years of service at Union Carbide and seven years as a building construction inspector for the state of Texas at UTMB in Galveston. He was a 32nd degree member of the Masonic Lodge A.F.&A.M'., Shriners, Scottish Rite and Eastern Star. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Texas City. Mr.

Michalke is'survived by his wife of 60 years, Geneva Michalke of Texas City; daughter Ginger Gilbert and husband Billy E. Gilbert of Dickinson; sister Mildred Sternadel of Hallettsville, Texas; grandchildren Trae Gilbert and wife Michele of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Tara Gilbert-Aldred and husband, Micah. Tuesday, December 21, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Santa Fe, Texas, with Beverly CoUinsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. Mr. Culbreth was born November 28,1916, in Cold Spring, Oklahoma.

He was a retired civil service firefighter and assistant fire chief at Ellington Field. He was in the Army during WWII and a Senior Master Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve at Ellington Field. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Santa Fe, Texas, and a Liberal Arts student at College of the Mainland for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Louise Culbreth.

Mr. Culbreth is survived by his sons, A.J. Culbreth Sr. and wife, Delia of Santa Fe, Texas, A.B. Culbreth Jr.

and wife, Betteye of Friendswood, Texas, and M. Michael Culbreth and wife, Janet of Orange, Texas; granddaughter Nanette C. Weimer and husband Fred of Pearland, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; forty great- grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren and numerous other relatives, friends and "hunting Pallbearers will be C.B. Watts, Jimmy Brown, Todd Swenson, Bob Ruggiero, Bob Ruggiero, Bob Vilchek and Curtis Bean. Honorary pallbearer is Harold Weimer.

Mr. Salinas' family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening after 5:00 p.m. A longtime resident of Galveston and Galveston County, Mr. Saunas for many years, worked for Todd Shipyards in Galveston, where he later retired. He leaves behind with many fond memories, his sister, Amelia Morales of Texas City, Texas; his two brothers, Julian Salinas of Chula Vista, California, and Antonio Salinas and wife, Susie of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dode and Rebecca Green; adoptive parents, Arthur and Louisiana Bell; five children at a young age and two sons, Virgil and Jerry Holcomb. She leaves to cherish memory of her life, two sons, Tbm Holcomb Jr. of Saudi Arabia and Raymond Holcomb of New York; seven daughters, Louise Foreman (Henry), Geraldine Hampton (Alfred), Annie Laura Gray (Hubert), Nellie Aubury, Joyce Holmes, Brenda Bloom and Sherrie Holcomb; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-six great- grandchildren; devoted friends, Margaret Davis and Bernice Sparks; church family other relative and friends. She was a resident of Texas City for 38 years, and was a retired R.N., and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Texas City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy B. Brown. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Brenda Blackmon of League City; grandchildren, Troy and Shanna Blackmon and their two children, Samuel Blackmon and Joel Blackmon all of Georgia, Sammie Blackmon of Denton, Texas and Daniel Blackmon of League City, Texas; stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Janice C. and Helmut Haefke and their two children Christopher Patterson and Paul Patterson all of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Lydia Bennett, Hazel Bennett, and Nellie Evans all of Hallettsville, Texas; brother, the Rev.

James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque, Texas Johnny Earl Copeland DICKINSON Johnny Earl Copeland passed away on Saturday, December 18, 1999, at Columbia Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, formerly of La Marque. He had been a resident of Dickinson since 1970.

Johnny was a computer salesman for Sears at Baybrook Mall. He served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1975 and was a Vietnam veteran. Mr. Copeland is preceded in death by his father, Johnny S.

Copeland. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Mae and John Hede, of Dickinson; sister brother-in-law, Cathy and Mike Henderson of Bacliff; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Kathy Copeland of Dickinson; two stepbrothers, John E. Hede of Memphis and James Hede of Galveston. Also surviving are four uncles, Charles, Jimmy, Ramer and Roy Copeland, all of Mississippi; three aunts, Emma Snider of La Marque, Patricia Harper of Oklahoma and Tommie Everson of Pasadena; nieces and nephews, Samatha, David and Julie Copeland, April and Michael Henderson and great-niece Kayla Wright. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Fiorenza Bishop Joseph A. Fiorenza will be the main celebrant at the Midnight Mass at the Cathedral on December 24th. He was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of on December 18, 1984; and he is the President of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops and the U.S. Catholic Conference. He is the first Texan and die first Bishop from the South to be elected to this position.
