Kenneth C. Lee, Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Debating Club Organized At Misericordia The Council of Debate of College Misericordia has organized a Junior Debating Club as a distinct group. The purpose of the new division is to prepare students for inter-collegiate Freshmen debates.

Miss Lucille De Pierro of Freeland was elected president and Miss Serephine Russo, secretary. The first project of the new organization is an intra-mural debate between Lenore McGowan, Lucille De Pierro, Joan Forgash on the affirmative and Ruth Garber, Serephine Russo, Lorraine Cupples on the negative. The question is: Resolved: That Women Should Relinquish their Positions in Industry After the War. It will be presented in the College Little Theatre some day next week. Marjorie Meier To Wed Tonight Mrs.

Harry Meier, 19 Barney street, announces the approaching marriage of her daughter, Marjorie to Harold Spitzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Spitzer, North Walnut street, Kingston. The wedding will take place at 6:30 tonight in St. Theresa the Lille Flower Church, Old River Road.

Rev. Joseph Meier, cousin of the bride, will officiate. The attendants will be Miss Jean Meier, sister of the bride, and Earl Spitzer, brother of the bridegroom. A reception will follow at the Meier home. Miss Meier is a graduate of Meyers High School and Madame Fenwick's Beauty College.

She is associated with Dot's Beauty Shoppe in Ashley. Mr. Spitzer is-8 graduate of Kingston High School and is employed by the Lehigh Valley Coal Company. Alinchne-Davis Miss Betty Elaine Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

William H. Davis, 34 Yates street, Forty Fort, and Edmund J. Alinchne, of Newark, son of William Alinchne, of Kingston, were married on November 2 by Rev. Arthur Seibert, pastor of the Hillside Methodist Church, Hillside, N. J.

The bride is a graduate of the Forty Fort High School and Leader Beauty College. She is employed by the Radio Corporation of America. Mr. Alinchne was grauated from the Kingston High School and Wyoming Seminary. He is attending the United Television School, Newark, and is employed by the Western Electric in Newark.

Ruch, street, Kingston, Class Albert of Mr. and Mrs. 331 a New Grant street, was solemnized Thursday morning at 11 in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingston. Rev. David A.

Menges officiated. The attendants were Miss Etta wald and Earl Koerber. The bride wore a soldier blue wool suit, a matching velvet hat and corsage of orchids. The maid of honor wore an American Beauty rose wool suit, a matching velvet hat and a corsage of talisman roses. The bride is graduate of the Kingston High School, class 1942, and formerly employed in the auditing department of Hotel Sterling.

Private Koerber was graduated from the Coughlin High School and is stationed at Langley Field, Virginia. After November 20 the couple will reside at Hampton, ginia. Engagement Announced Mr. and Mrs. William J.

Corp. Murphy was formerly employed at Miner-Hillard Mining Co. and was inducted into the Army on May 29. He is stationed at Camp Swift, Texas. Two members of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital office staff were honored Thursday night at Hotel Redington by fellow associates.

J. Afternoon Wedding of Dorothy Rachel James and Frank A. Sinon Miss Rachel James, daughter Governor Arthur H. Dorothy, James, and the youngest First Lady ever to serve as official hostess at the Pennsylvania executive mansion, became the bride this afternoon of Frank A. Sinon, son of Mr.

and Mrs. John T. Sinon, Austin, in a setting resplendent with dignity and beauty at the Grace Methodist Church in Harrisburg. Rev. Dr.

Wilbur V. Mallelieu officiated. Today's wedding from the governor's residence was the first there since that of the former Mary Fisher, daughter of the late Governor John S. Fisher, who like James, also served as official hostess for her father when he was chief of the Commonwealth from 1927 to Vir-1930. The church, where the couple exchanged their marital vows, was filled with guests including the Governor's cabinet, high State officials and socially prominent people from all parts of the east who attended the reception which followed at the mansion on Front street.

State dignataries at the war-time wedding were headed by Governor-elect Edward Martin. White flowers, in adorned the edifice which was light- myriads of tall tapers. The chancel was banked with ferns and and the center aisle, through which the wedding party ascended to the altar, was marked by white ribboned pews reserved for the families and relatives of the couple, the official family and other distinguished guests. Prior to the ceremony the church organist gave a recital as a prelude to the approach of the wedding party. Will Hold Card Party November 24 A party for the benefit of the Mercy hospital clinics will be held at the Nurses' Home, Hanover street, Tuesday evening, November 24, under the auspices of the Alumnae Association and the student nurses of the hospital. Mary Hooper, of Baltimore, Grand Regent of the College of Regents of the Women of the Moose made an official visit this week to Wilkes-Barre Chapter No. 85, Women of the Moose at the Moose Home, 50 Public Square, Mrs. Carolyn Leonard, Senior Regent, presided. Mrs. Hooper met with the tive, committee and all committee chairmen at the 5 o'clock session, at which time many suggestions and ideas were offered for future work.

Publicity clippings were presented for October by Miss Harriett M. Edwards, a member of the committee. Mrs. Blodwyn Cragle, chairman of Social Service stated 42 new garments and $3.20 were collected for the Needlework Guild by mittee. Mrs.

Margaret Horner, chairman of home making reported on the rummage sale held recently. Mrs. Helen L. Reed, chairman of the Alumni received seals to be used for mailing purposes. Through Altar Society Names Aides For Card Party The Altar and Rosary Society of St.

Patrick's Church will sponsor a card. party Wednesday evening, November 18 in the church auditorium. Mrs. Anthony, Gallagher is chairman assisted Mesdames Conwell, Finn and Brennan, Sr. The floor committee includes the following: Mrs.

Thirty-one women were accepted for membership and were initiated in honor of Mrs. Hooper with a beautiful ritualistic ceremony with Miss Helen Aitken, chairman of the ritual in charge. Mrs. Myrtle Eddy was appointed chairman of the Library committee to fill in an unexpired term. Tentative arrangements were made to hold a Library "Chapter Night Program" on Wednesday evening, November 25.

Miss Harriett M. Edwards, general secretary bazaar conducted by the chapter, together with Wilkes-Barre No. 128, Loyal Order of Moose gave a report on the success of the affair. Mrs. Claire Mancini, chairman of Child Care and Training spoke on the rag dolls and animals made for the bazaar.

The proceeds of the sale of these articles will be used for needy children at Chrismtas Mrs. Hooper addressed the class following initiation and spoke of the wonderful work Chapters all over are doing. She urged the members to continue selling memberships in order to protect Mooseheart the "Child City" of the Moose and Moosehaven the home for the aged members in future years. She also urged to continue the sale of bonds and stamps to protect the future of our country. Mrs.

Bride In Ivory Faille A traditional portrait gown of soft, billowing ivory faille was worn by the bride whose dark beauty was enhanced by the mellow candlelight shade of the frock. The peplumed bodice, had a deep yoke of marquisette Chantilly lace over the dropped shoulder line and long, tight sleeves with snuff ruffles of matching lace veiling the hands. The full bouffant skirt, which fell into a long sweeping train, was worn over several old fashioned petticoats, finished with lace ruffles.

From the Juliet cap and snood of matching lace a full length veil of bridal illusion swept to the end of the train. She carried a colonial bouquet of all -white flowers with a center of orchids and ruffed with the lace which was used in the bouquet she carried the night of the inaugural ball when Mr. Sinon first met his bride-to-be. It was at this colorful State function that today's bridegroom was presented to Miss James who was making her debut as Pennsylvania's First Lady and official hostess for her father, the new Governor. The matron of honor wore a Buckingham blue taffeta gown fashioned with basque bodice with sweetheart neckline and bracelet length sleeves. The full bouffant skirt was finished with fringed ruffles. The bridesmaids wore the same style gowns in magenta taffeta. In their hair they all wore ostrich plumes and short illusion veils to match their gowns and carried colonial nosegays. The junior bridesmaids wore Buckingham blue taffeta gowns made with basque bodices with sweetheart neckline and full bouffant skirts.

Box. plaiting of self material finished the necklines and edged the bodices. They also wore plumes and illusion veiling in their hair and carried nosegays. Mrs. James Wears Grey The Governor's wife, Mrs.

James, chose a floor length grey gown with which she wore fuschia hat and gloves and a corsage of orchids. The bride's aunt, Mrs. B. H. Sweitzer, Lancaster, selected a royal purple floor length gown which featured a a yoke of billiard green sequins and short sleeves.

She wore a small matching hat and a corsage of orchids. Mrs. Sinon, mother of the bridegroom, wore a beige and black gown which was accented by black accessories and a corsage of gardenias. Guests were received in the drawing room of the mansion where there were numerous bouquets of white bridal flowers. The bride and bridegroom were assisted in receiving the guests by the bride's father, Governor James, Mrs.

James and John Sinon, father of the bridegroom. Mrs. Sinon, mother of the bridegroom, who was present at the ceremony and reception, was unable to assist in receiving the guests because of ill, health. Reception Is Held Following the reception Mr. Sinon and his bride left for a wedding trip to Canada.

For traveling the bride wore a two-piece suit of beige chiffon wool with which she wore a matching hat and brown accessories. Over her shoulders she wore a mink coat to which a corsage of orchids was pinned. After December 1, Mr. and Mrs. Sinon will be at home at the Grayco apartments, Harrisburg.

cuse The bride is a graduate of SyraUniversity and is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She also attended the Wilkes-Barre and Plymouth High school. Mr. Sinon is a deputy attorney general of Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Pennsylvania State College and the Dickinson School of Law.

He is a member of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity. The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Laubaugh, 70 Govier street, Parsons; will be celebrated on Sunday. The Laubaughs have one son, International Llewellyn, an employe of the Color Printing Company and one granddaughter, Verna Laubaugh.

Mrs. Laubaugh is a member of the Berean class of the Parsons Baptist Church. The marriage of Miss Elizabeth M. McGroarty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

William MccGroarty, of 287 Scott street, to Joseph Rittel, of Bethlehem, will he Thursday morning, November 26, at 9, in Holy Savior Church. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lynch, of Williamsport, brother-in-law and of the bride elect, will be attendants. Following ceremony a tion will be held at Hotel Redington.

Later, an afternoon reception will be held at the MccGroarty home. bride-elect is a graduate St. Mary's High School. Mr. Rittel was graduated from Luzerne High School.

He is employed by Bethlehem Steel Company. Senior Cambrian Club Senior Cambrian Club's annual dinner will be held Tuesday evening at Hotel Sterling with the Rev. William K. Russell, rector of St. Stephen's Church, as guest speaker.

Davies is chairman of the committee assisted by the following: Mrs. Joseph J. Jones, program chairman; Mrs. George W. Harrison, music: Miss Janet Rhys and Mrs.

Ralph Morgan, accompanied by Mrs. George West Side Woman's Club Board meeting of the West Side Woman's Club was held Thursday morning at the home of Mrs. Kenneth was decided to have a luncheon on Thursday, November 19, at 1 in the Grace Episcopal Church. Red Cross Canteen of the church will serve the luncheon. The program for the afternoon will be in charge of the Department of International Relations of which Mrs.
