James Courtrlghl, aged 84 years, one of Kingston's oldest residents and a member of one of the oldest families of the Wyoming died yesterday morning at his home, 333 Wyoming avenue, after an illness of general debility. Mr. Courtright was born at Plains, the son of Mr. and Mrs, Benjamin Courtright. Tendered a Surprise Party. A surprise party was tendered last evening to Mr. and Mrs. John J. Pew-yer of Avondale, by their friends.

The evening was spent in dancing, musical and vocal selections. Mrs. James Mac-Intyre and JohnTreston danced several reels and jigs. Several vocal selections were rendered by Mrs. Mac-Intyre and Kate Curn.

Boney. and located in the rear of Washington avenue, was partially destroyed by fire at 8:45 this The -buildln was unoccupied and before the fir was discovered the blaze had gained considerable headway. The alarm was turned in and the fire department responded to the call and did excellent work by extinguishing the fire. He left here about nine years ago for Danville, where he embarked in the feed and grain business. Board Health Elect Officers. The hilth board of Plymouth held a regular monthly meeting last evening in the town hall. President Richard J.

Lynch was in the chair. The members present were Charles W. Hendershot, George Harrison, John Richards and Dr. H. G.

Templeton. The regular routine of business was transacted. Henry Kittle, the newly appointed member to succeed Mr. Richards whose term expired, presented his certificate of appointment and took his seat on the board for a term of six years. The election of officers for the year 1915 was taken up and the officers elected were: President, Charles W.

Hendershot; secretary, Dr. H. G. Templeton; sanitary officer, John Harrison. The annual appropriation will be asked from the borough council.

Installation Ceremonies. Last evening in the Knights of Columbus hall the officers of the Plymouth Council No. 9S4, recently elected, were installed by District Deputy William Conlon. A social session followed. The officers installed are: Grand knight, Peter Dillon; deputy grand night, J.

Vincent O'Connell; Thomas Roan; recording secretary, Frank Lee; financial secretary, Hugh Tormay; warden, Edward' Garrahan; trustee, James Brown. Death of Mrs. Thomas Robtrti Hughes. Mrs. Thomas Hughes, an esteem-able lady of this community, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs.

John L. Jones, at No. 25 Simpson street, Wilkes-Barre, She had been 111 a long time and her death was due to general debility. Deceased lady was 77 years of age and resided In this town for many years where she was well known and highly repected. She was the widow of tho late Peter Roberts, who prior to his death held the office of burgess and justice of the Deace.

A concourse of friends and relatives attended the funeral of Edward R. Smiley which was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home, 31 Gaylord avenue. Services were conducted from his late horn by Rev. D. V.
