Born in Newark, New Jersey on March 24, 1908, son of Franz Johann and Elizabeth Keller Beyer, he had been a resident of Tequesta and Jupiter Inlet Colony for the past 21 years, having come to Florida from New Castle, Delaware.

After graduating from Staunton Military Academy in Virginia in 1924, be attended New Jersey College of Engineering which is now part of Rutgers University. He entered the United States Marine Corps as a Captain in 1930. On February 4. 1938 he married Eugenia Abney Wall in Elkton, MD. She pre-t deceased him on November 25, 1989.

During World War he served with the Third Marine Division and was engaged In active combat at Guadalcanal, Bou gainville, Guam, and Iwo Jima, receiving the Bronze Star. He was called back to active duty to serve in Korea in 1953, and as Assistant Naval Attache in Lebanon in 1958. He was a founder of Iron Gate Products Inc. in New York City, which was affiliated with "21" Club. General Beyer is survived by his son, Malcolm Keller Beyer, Jr.

and by his daughter-in-law, Marga- ret R. T. Beyer of Jupiter Inlet Colony; his grandson, Malcolm Keller Beyer HI of Boca Raton; and by his sister, Florence Beyer Gifol of Cedar Grove, NJ.
