Eli Bowen. Sold by Koontz Bros. Tbe usually quiet little town of Wakarusa, Elkhart county, was considerable excited over the report that was set afloat early Thureday morning that the Wakarusa Exchange bank had been robbed duriDg the previous night. Investigation Bhowed the report to be true. The thieves had broken into the Wabash tool house where they procured tools with which to effect an entrance to the building.

Once in the building, they drilled three holes into the safe and by the use of dynamite the outer door was completely demolished, tbe inner door, however, euccsstully resisted the force of the explosion, hence, no entrance was gained to the treasure box. A email drawer which the cashier had neglected to put in the safe that night, and which contained 75 in cash and notes amounting to several hundred dollars, was the extent of the robbery. The. force of the explosion tore a large hole in the side of the building, doing considerable damage. The work was plainly that of professional cracksmen.

The only clew to the thieves is a team and buggy which they had stolen near the scene of the robbery and had driven to a point several miles north of Elkhart, where they abandoned the rig and escaped. This would leave nearly 12,000,000,000 tons, which at an annual rate of production cf 45,000,000 tons, would last 203 years, but probably only about one-half of the amount unmincd would be actually available. Lord Kelvin has been making' ex-x'rimeuts to discover what the effect of a eanonade of quick-firing puns would be- on board the vessel firini nnd the ship subject to the fire.

He finds that after1 15 minutes firing' the survivors of the crews of both vessels ould be reduced to a state of mental, if not physical, incapacity, owing to the concussion of the projectiles on the sides of the vessel and the noise of the guns. There is no need of little children being tortured by scald bead, eczema and skin eruptions. DeWitt'a Witch Hazel Salva gives instant relief and eyres permanently. O. F.

If the witnesses all tell the truth all the lawyers on both sides are liars. It looks a little like it was both ways, that is, all the witnesses and lawyers, liars. Bv the death of admiral John L. Ilil-debrandt has been relentless for the last year in prosecuting violators of the fish laws.
