San Diego's Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE). Survivors include two children: Marcia Windness Coward of Moorestown. N.J., and Jon Post Windness of Glcnvicw, and three stepchildren: Thomas Money of Bonita; Rozannc Money Zunich of Fresno; and Susanna Money Doster of Reno. Surviving grandchildren are: Charles W. Coward III of Delran, N.J.; William Mark Coward, Ph.D., of Moorestown, N.J.; Jennifer Paige Windness and Stephen Windness of Chicago; and Jon P.

Windness Jr. of Denver. managed Prangc's Department Store in Green Bay, Wis. Mr. Windness joined Montgomery Ward in 1941.

While he eventually served as a regional manager, his most notable contribution was the creation and presentation of the first computerized training program, Decision Dynamics, by which prospective managers learned essentials of store management. His pioneering success was hailed from coast to coast during the 1960s. Upon retirement to the West Coist. he devoted his energies to golf, oil painting and leadership of whom he resided in Chula Vista during 19 years of marriage. He also survived two sisters: Margaret Windness Leach of Woodland Hills, Calif, and Alfield Windness Collman of Littleton, Colo.

Born in Finley, N.D., on March 2, 1903. Clair "Windy" Windness received his early education in a one-room schoolhouse. Valedictorian of his class, he attended St. Olaf College before transferring to the University of North Dakota, from which, he graduated in business management. He joined Butler Brothers in Chicago in 1925 and subsequently Step grandchildren who survive Mr.

Windness include Kevin Zunich of San Luis Obispo, Mark Zunich of Fresno, and Courtney and Colleen Money of Bonita. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Chapel at Fredericka Manor, 183 Third Chula Vista. A reception will follow.

Interment will be at Glen Abbey in Bonita following the service. Rothschild of Chula Vista died Nov. 24.

She was 79. Mrs. Rothschild was born in Berlin, Germany, and came to the United States in 1943. She came to San Diego in 1954 and married Hardy Rothschild in 1941. Mrs.

Rothschild was an active volunteer for the. San Diego Humane Society and the Chula Vista Animal Shelter. She was also a charter member of Bahia Sur Kennel Club. Mrs. Rothschild recently purchased and donated several bulletproof dog vests for the Chula Vista Police Department's K-9 Unit.

Mrs. Rothschild was a member of Temple Beth Shalom. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Corky Schauer, grandchildren Kimra Lee Carver and David Schauer; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Rothschild died in 1972.

Graveside services were Nov. 30 in Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the new Chula Vista Animal Control or the American Heart Association. WINDNESS Clair Arthur Windness, a pioneer in merchandising and management during a 28-year career with Montgomery Ward who retired in San Diego in 1969, died at Sharp Memorial Hospital Nov. 23, 1999.

He was 96.
