He had resided with Mrs. Drake for the past 25 years. Deceased was a native of Pittston, and was widely known as "The Major" ir, this section. Duryea Old Forge Vanchiere Becomes Bride Of Michael Vullo Miss Josephine Vanchiere, daughter of Mrs. Carmella Cumbo, 135 North Main street, Pittston, and Michael Vullo, son of Mrs. Carmella Vullo, 211 South Main street, Pittston, were married this morning in Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Pittston. Rev. Enrico Giovetti, pastor, performed the ceremony and was celebrant of solemn high nuptial mass that followed.

He was assisted at mass by Rev. Rudolfo Borgogno as deacon and Rev. Vincent Bonomo, as sub- deacon. Gladioli and pom poms decorated the altar, tall baskets of white pom poms and gladioli adorned the center aisle. Nuptial hymns were sung by Paul Kane, accompanied by the church choir, and churen organist.

Miss Vullo, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor and Samuel Vanchiere, a brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Ralph Rostock and Jacob Graziano. The bride, given in marriage by her brother Leo, was gowned in imported duchess satin fashioned with dropped torso waistline, rounded yoke, broidered neckline of marquisette emwith seed pearls, and a gown-length train. Her extremely long veil of illusion was hand-rolled and shirred to a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and pom poms centered with gardenias.

The maid of honor attired in a sorice colored taffeta gown with long torso waistline and sweetheart neckline. Her headdress was a matching bonnett trimmed with tulle and shed carried American Beauty roses sorice colored pom poms frilled with tulle around. The bride's mother a black crepe dress with long sleeves and a corsage of white gardenias and pom poms. Mr. Vullo's mother was attired in black velvet and wore Kolinsky furs.

Her corsage was also of white gardenias and pom poms. Breakfast was served the bridal party at the home of the bride's parents, and dinner was served members of the immediate families at Hotel Sterling. Later Mr. and Mrs. Vullo left on a trip to Washington, New York, and New Jersey.

The bride is a graduate of Pittston high school, class of 1937 Mr. Vullo completed his studies there in 1936. He conducts a service station in Pittston. College Debater Robert Hopkins, of this city, a student at Scranton University, was the debating team which represented the University in a debate before the Pennsylvania Speech Teachers' Association at Harrisburg yesterday. The appearance was in connection with the 20th annual convention of Debating Association of Pesylvaia Colleges.

Kiwanis To Meet The local Kiwanis Club will meet in regular session at 6 Monday evening in the DAR Chapter House at which time reports on the State Kiwanis convention will be presented by J. P. Kuschel and Morris Wilner. Nominating committee will report on candidates for club offices on October '13 and the election will take place on November 10. Brief Mention Mrs.

Union Church Service The monthly union service of the local Protestant churches will be held tomorrow night in Bethel Methodist Church, with the Rev. Arthur D. Behrneds, pastor of the Langcliffe Presbyterian Church, preaching.

The Rev. Kenneth Kingston, host pastor, will preside, assisted by Rev. Leonard L. Collins, pastor of St. John's Primitive Methodist Church.
