Speeches were made by several representative farmers and the ob iect of the meeting fully explained. A reductlo of the cotton crop was strongly urged, and that more acreage and attention be given to the production of breadstufls and other crops, whereby the farmer could have an independent living at nome. Several resolutions were adopted, one of which recommended that the farmers of this county plant but one-third of their crops in cotton, thus giving two acres of three to corn and other products. The following delegates were elected to the cotton convention called to meet in Little Rock on 10th of March? lions. W.

Jones, J. W. Pierce and M. II. Ruth.

Ail classes of citizens are strongly urged to aid tho farmers in this movement, and by their influence to induce every firmer in the oounty to giant by the rule laid down by the resolution adoDted bv the meet ing, and thus bring about a result that must prove' beneficial to the county at large, but more especially the farmers.
