LloydD.Kuhn Born in Yokohama, Japan, in Robert Ernest and Frances Campbell Heun, Howard Thurston Heun died on August 27, 2015 in Williamsburg, the age of 101, of respiratory failure. He graduated from Culver Military Academy in 1932, and from the University of Wisconsin in 1936 where he captained the varsity crew his senior year and was awarded both the Big Ten Medal of Honor and the Kenneth Sterling Day for scholarship and athletics. He studied Public Administration at the University of Minnesota followed by employment in with the Securities and Exchange Commission. From 1942 to 1946, he served in the U.S.Army, attaining the rank of Lt.

Colonel. In 1946, he began his long career with the Bureau of the Budget (now the Occe of Management and Budget), focusing on Military Defense.This was interrupted by a year at the National War College (1949) and by six years in New York City with Continental Can Company and General Dynamics Corporation, returning to the Bureau of the Budget in 1962. He retired in 1975 as Assistant Chief of the National Security Division of the Occe of Management and Budget. Before and after retirement, he was active in organizations. He served 13 years as a board member of The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia, and he completed years as a governor of the Chevy Chase Club, the last two as President.

His hobbies included photography, watercolor and his grand passion: golf. He started playing as a boy, continued throughout school and career, and played on every major course in the United King- dom.The highlight of his career were the two holes-in-one he shot on two diderent courses in Williamsburg, Virginia in retirement in his after his move there in 1993. His family and friends will remember him for his calm demeanor, his keen sense of humor and hearty laugh, and his enjoyment of others and their stories. His marriage to Mary Fuller Gentry in 1940 lasted 62 years until her death in 2002 in Williamsburg. He is survived by their daughters, Elizabeth H.

She is survived by her husband Leisha and Jada. Parents, Tom and Ella Cummins; Brothers; Ray (Debra), Tim (Barb) of in-law Vivian Rigg, brothers -in-law Steve and Dan; sister-in-law Lynette Arnett. Terri was a graduate of Richmond High School class of 1979 and attended Valparaiso University. She was a member of Madrigal Singers, Band and Devilettes in high school.

She continued studying music at Valparaiso. true joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.
