He retired as a forklift operator for Deere and Company and was a member of Fervent Masonic Lodge. Among survivors are his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Connee Double-day of Ankeny; a son, Roger of Maxwell; two brothers, Donald of Collins and Forrest of Maxwell; two grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements. Forrest W. Butler, 78, of Pella died of a heart ailment Thursday at home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday at First Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Mr. Butler was born in Mahaska County and lived in the Leighton, Pella and Sandridge areas all his life. He was a retired farmer, sheep shearer and butcher and was a veteran of the Iowa National Guard.

Survivors include his wife, Viola; four daughters, Bonnie McKibben of St. Charles and Phyllis Butler, Lou Ann Schuring and Synthia Roorda, all of Pella; a son, Dean of Pella; two sisters, Lucille Bunting of Pella and Lillian Butler of Oskaloosa; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Avon Cemetery. Mr. Snow was born in Glenn Valley, and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He resided at the care center six years. A Navy veteran, he was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the United Rubber Workers union and retired after 23 years with Armstrong Tire and Rubber Co.

Surviving are a niece and a nephew. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Dorothy Julia Ray, 75, of 1430 Eighth St. died of a stomach hemorrhage Tuesday at Broadlawns Medi- am cat center, ine body was cremated and no services are planned.

Mrs. Ray was born in Hancock and lived in Des Moines about 20 years, bhe and her late husband were over-the-road truck drivers. There are no immediate survivors. Arrangements were handled by Hamilton's Funeral Home. Ruth Miriam Welch, 62, of Carlisle died of multiple sclerosis Monday at Carlisle Care Center, where she was a resident nine years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery. Mrs. Welch lived in Des Moines all her life until moving to the care center.

She had been a secretary. She was a member of Staves Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, David Short of Honolulu, and a daughter, Cheryl Short of Des Moines. Robert DeBolt, 78, of 5505 N.E. Third St. died of a heart ailment Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Beth-, any Reformed Church, and entombment will be in Merle Hay Mausoleum.

Mr. DeBolt was born in Des Moines and re turned in 1949 after living in Newton. He retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. and was a member of the Reformed Church. Among survivors are his wife, Darlene; a daughter, Donna Reed, and a son, David, both of Des Moines; a sister, Dorothy McKinney of Pico Rivera, seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
