Is there anything that you guys would really love to Married People is the project Fraser and Sternin wanted to do. CBS passed on it and ABC picked it up. The network got what looks like an intelligent comedy about common adult situations. But it's going to have to develop more of an edge to become memorable. Weak competition could give Married People the time it needs to mature.

Older viewers carry the weight for Jake and the Fatman on CBS and Dear John on NBC isn't a heavyweight comedy by any stretch. A good sign from the premiere episode was evidence of adult humor the way people really talk, which is rare for network SPK1A1 QUIMINSENIOI CITIZENS NKES 'MARRIED'from ID creators Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraser had better be better than good. Future story lines include Cindy's father visiting and admitting at a dinner party that includes Nick and Olivia, that he's never eaten a meal with a black man. Another story line involves Nick and Olivia's close friends having to move from the neighborhood after 20 years because of high rents charged by landlords such as Nick and Olivia. Actor Young and writers Fraser and Sternin were involved with last season's disastrous CBS comedy Live-In.

That show's premise consisted of Young playing a spoiled rich teen who constantly alluded to, and dreamed about, having sex with his family's live-in maid. At a Los Angeles press conference for Married People Fraser said Live-In failed because "I think it was a miscalculation. I think it offended a lot of people."
