She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church. Services were held Dec. 8, with burial in San Diego. Mr. Cart-wright lived in Pleasantville until joining the Navy. He was an airman appren- tiee stationed at Lemoore Naval Air Station.

Surviving are his wife, Debra; his parents, Tom and Vera Wise of Pleasantville; two brothers, Chuck of Colorado Springs, and Kevin of Des Moines; two sisters, Kaye Jones of Indianapolis and Holly Huston of Collins; two stepbrothers, Terry and Mike, both of Des Moines; and his grandmothers, Martha Miller of North Platte, and Irene Lacey of Des Moines. Fern R. Ryder, 69, of Newton died of cancer Sunday at Skiff Medical Center. A memorial service will be at 1 1 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church.

Burial of the cremains will be at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Ryder was born in Timnath, and lived in Newton 49 years. She retired after more than 30 years as head nurse with Medical Associates in Newton and was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Jasper County Nurses Association. She had also been a volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.

Surviving are her husband, Don; a daughter, Julie Terrell of Waukee; a son, William, her father, C.W. Ramsey, and a sister, Ruth Miller, all of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, W.F. Ramsey of Rettendorf and Allen Ramsey of Warrensburg, and five grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the church following services. Arrangements are being handled by Reese Funeral Home.

John J. Dawley, 88, of New Sharon died of a respiratory ailment Sunday at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Harden Funeral Home, and burial will be in Friends Cemetery. Mr.

Dawley, a retired farmer, was born near Burr Oak and had lived in the New Sharon area since 1933. He is survived by his wife, Edna; a son, Danny of New Sharon; two daughters, Betty Harrelson of Newton and Beverly Pargeon of Sears-boro; a brother, Roscoe of Bluffton; three sisters, Grace Morgan of Blooming Prairie, Lottie Ann Good of Ridgeway, and Vyra Mae Masters of Canton, 13 grandchildren; 17 and a great-great-grandchild. Mr. Miller was born in Runnells and moved to Des Moines in 1956. He had been a carpenter's helper for Meredith Corp. and was caretaker of Vandalia, Berwick, Rising Sun and Stuart cemeteries. He was a member of Saylor Township and Delaware Township volunteer fire departments.

Surviving are his wife, Carolene; a daughter, Judy Mease, and a son, Jerry, both of Des Moines; two sisters, Mary Miller-Sandven of Scotts-. dale, and Mildred Miller-Dobbs of Colfax; a brother, Layton Sr. of Mingo; five grandchildren; a greatgrandchild; and a step-great-grandchild. Robert Burrell Lyman, 78, of Runnells died of a heart ailment Saturday at home. Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Peterson Funeral Home in Indian-ola. Burial will be in Belmont Cemetery in Milo. Mr.

Lyman was born in Morning Sun and moved to the Runnells area from Des Moines in 1964. He had worked for Job Service of Iowa, was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War and had been a member of First United Methodist Church in Mitchellville and the Masonic Lodge. Among survivors are his Marian; a son, Mike of Knoxville, a daughter, Cheryl Kuney of Delano, a brother, Eugene of St. Louis; and three grandchildren. Friends may call after 1 p.m.

today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church. Derrell L. Bennett, 78, of 509 S.W. Westlawn Drive, Ankeny, died of an aneurysm Saturday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center.

Services will be at 1 :30 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home in Ames, with burial in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Bennett was born in Hall's Summit, and moved to the Gilbert area in 1937 and Ankeny in 1980. He was a retired fanner, an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion.

Surviving are a sister, Barbara Devitt of Ankeny; and a brother, Wilbur of Los Fresnos, Texas. William Radi Rogers, 80, of Nevada died of an apparent heart attack Saturday in Ames. The body was donated to the University of Iowa and no services are planned. Mr. Rogers, who retired as a printer at Graphic Forms, was born in Chicago and lived in Nevada most of his life.

He is survived by a son, David of MeCallsburg; a daughter, Deborah Rogers of Fort Lauderdale, and three grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Chet Ryan Mortuary. Mrs. Murphy, a homemaker, was born in What Cheer and lived in Colo before moving to Nevada. The family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Ines Acebey, 87, of 3710 56th St. died Saturday at home of complications following a stroke. The body was cremated and memorial services will be at 5:30 p.m.

Gysbert Snetselaar, 82, of Prairie City died Saturday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines of complications fol lowing a stroke. Wisecup, 72, of Madrid died of a heart ailment Sunday at the Madrid Home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sund-berg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, and burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Luther. Mrs. Wisecup lived in Madrid all her life.

She was a homemaker and member of Luther Christian Church. Lavern William Lamb, 77, of Grinnell died of pneumonia Friday at Friendship Manor. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sheridan Cemetery in Poweshiek County. Mr.

Lamb, a retired farmer, was born in Maleom and moved to Grinnell in 1983. He was a member of Sheridan Methodist Church in Poweshiek County, Grinnell Elks Lodge, Tama Eagles Lodge and Poweshiek County Farm Bureau. Among survivors are his wife, Helen; a son, Roger of Marshalltown; three daughters, Janet Bunse of Melbourne and Judy Huff and Betty Harris, both of Grinnell; two brothers, Merle of Grinnell and Shirel of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Ber-niee Pals of Thornton; 13 grandchildren; and 1 1 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to his church or Hospice of Grinnell..
