APRIL 14,1958 Meeting Called to Organize PTfl JEFFERSON Preliminary fteps for organizing a local parent and teachers association hav been laid by the local Woman Club. An organizational meeting mil be held in the liigh school auditorium at 8 p.m. Monday, April 28. Supt.

Richard Marshall will give the welcome; Mrs. Enrl Kro gen will introduce a panel of three speakers and Mrs. Howard Richards will act as moderator. Mrs. Richards and the three speakers aca PTA officers from the Madi son district.

Hired as Teacher Miss Agnes Anderson, Oconto Falls, will teach English at Jefferson High School for the remainder of the school term, substituting for Gerard Rogan, who teaches English and is assistant football coach. Mr. Rogan leaves April 19 for Ft. Benning, to take a basic infantry officer's course until Aug. 9.

His wife and family will join him at the end of the school term. He was recently transferred to Co. Jefferson, from Whitewater. Jefferson Briefs Aid Assn. for Lutherans meets Friday for a 6:30 potluck suppei in St. John's Lutheran School. Delegates will be appointed to attend the AAL meeting at Racine June 7. Those unable to attend the supper are invited to view the Braves film to be shown at 8 p.m.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schiesl and family and Miss Marilyn Boyce, Detroit, returned home Sunday after a five-day visit with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schiesl.

Mrs. Mary Beck and son, Alphonse Beck. Barrington, 111., attended the wedding Saturday of the former's grandson, Richard Beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Beck, Milwaukee, and Miss Lynn Mae Merrill, Milwaukee.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Walk and Mrs. Emma Walk, Frank Becker and Jimmie Lee spent the weekend at Carthage, 111., with the former's daughter, Marlene, a student at Carthage College. Saturday night they attended the All Girls' Show in which Marlene participated.

Mrs, William Nevins Sr. Mr. and Mrs. William Nevins Jr. attended the wedding Saturday of the former's granddaughter, Nancy Nevins, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Robert Nevins, Milwaukee, and Allen Leister in St. Leo's Catholic Church. Mr. and Mrs.

Miss Martha Jungkuntz, sister of Mr. Jungkuntz, is visiting relatives in Milwaukee. Dr. and Mrs. John E.

Kreher and family, Ashland, came Sunday to visit his aunt, Miss Ada Hahn, until Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Strohbusch attended the wedding and reception Saturday of Floyd Froelich, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Harold Eberhardt said the case was referred to Jefferson County by Walworth County authorities because two Walworth County girls were involved. The girls were sentenced on morals charges. Milton Spelling Champion Chosen Hancock, grade pupil at Milton Grade School, was winner of a six- school spelling contest held Friday in Milton. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Myron Hancock. Seventeen pupils were entered in the spelldown. Linda will represent the group Friday at the Janesvillc courthouse when the county winner will be chosen. MERCY HOSPITAL Water Rights" Topic for Fort Meet Wednesday FORT ATKINSON-Richard S. Harnsberger, Madison, will on "Riparian Water Rights" at 8 p.m. Wednesday before members of American Legion Post 166 and members of the Fort Rural Life Group in the American Legion Dugout. Harnsberger is an attorney assisting in preparation of a bill to be introduced for legislative action. Olson was elected commodore of Blackhawk Boat Club at a recent meeting. Also elected were: Robert Lipke, vice commodore, and Mary McAllister, secretary-treasurer. First cruise of the season will be held April 20 on Lake Koshkonong. New maps of the Rock River- Lake Koshkonong area have gone to press. Funds from sale of the maps will aid in financing the buoy project sponsored by the club.

Pearl Fort Arboretum. Is Club Project FORT ATKINSON-Fort Atkinson Wisconservation Club will the planting and care of an arboretum in a four-acre tract west of its clubhouse in Rock River Park. Allan Haukum, a former state forester, is in charge of planting. Club members have been given lists of trees and shrubs that adapted to planting in this area. List 227 More Measles Cases The epidemic of German measles contmued unabated in Janesville lasi week of the city health department listed 227 more persons afflicted by the mild disease. More than 800 persons here, mostly children, have been hit by the disease since its outbreak through the region several weeks ago. A seven-day isolation period is required for those who contract the disease. Health officials also stated that a permit from either the family physician of the health department is required before the child may re-enter school. This applies whether or not school is in session and applies to all communicable diseases.

Hours that permits may be obtained at the city health department are 8 to 9 a.m., 11:30 until noon and 4:30 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The department also reported five cases of chicken pox last week. Jendresen Divorce Is Granted in Beloit Rosella M. dresen, Janesville, has obtained a divorce from Otto Jendresen, Parker Pen engineer, in Municipal Court here. She alleged cruel and inhuman treatment, and was given custody of their two children.

They were married in Janesville Aug. 23, 1941, and had ealier been involved in prolonged divorce proceedings in the Circuit Court. Four Fliers Die as Plane Falls GEORGETOWN. Del, airmen were killed yesterday in a huge Air Force CI33 cargo-transport which crashed shortly after takeoff from Dover Air Force Base. It was the first crash involving the nation's largest airborne cargo carrier, put into service late last year.

The turbo-prop craft was on a routine training mission when it was seen circling over Allendale State Forest 25 miles south of the Air Force base about 10 minutei after takeoff. Witnesses said the plane started a slow descent and that the pilot gunned the engines apparently trying to raise the plane. But it plummeted straight down, flipped on its back and burst into flames.
