former Resident Is Featured In Standard Times Elbert Taylor Hayes, a groc- eryman in San Angleo, formerly of San Saiba, was featured in a story published in the San Angelo Standard Times last Monday, July 18 Hayes, son of E. M. Hayes of San Saba and brother of Mrs. Ted Hall, Mrs. Hubert Smithhart and Mrs.

Buck Roberds of San Saba, was born April 10, 1903 in Zephyr, but moved to San Saiba county at an early age. He married Juanita McDaniel at San Saba in 1922. She was born Dec. 17, 1903, at Algerita, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.

Newt McDaniel. She is a sister to Mrs. Edgar Wood and Denzil McDaniel of Algerita. Hayes put in around 20 years as a bus driver. He and his family lived in Brady for several years, then moved to San Angelo in 1948.

He and his son, Hillie Hayes, now operate the Hayes Son Grocery Market, corner of North St. and Garfield, in San Angelo. The newspaper story was featuring his hobbies which included fishing and sports of all kinds, in particular, football, due to his sons, Hillie and Hilton being footballers in Brady, San Angelo College and Texas Tech, and one of his daughters, Mildred Lee, is wife of Ewell Sessom, head coach in Fredericksburg High School. Hayes also is interested in art. His other daughter, Wanda, is wife of Bob Lancaster, former San Angelo College art department head, now head of the art department in Southwestern University, Georgetown.

Two Ladies Receive Broken Bones In Falls Mrs. J. B. Boler and Mrs. Huts Owen are receiving treatment for broken bones due to recent falls.

Boler fell at her home on Wednesday, July 20, receiving a broken bone just above the wrist of her right arm. The break was said to be straight and in line, making it unnecessary to set it, however, she is wearing a cast on her arm. Mrs. Owen fell near the Gristy Radio and TV Shop Saturday morning, July 23. turned her ankle and fell, receiving a broken right elbow and wrist.

She was taken to Scott and White Hospital, Temple, where she will be a patient for several days. Her daughter, Mrs. Owen Parks, who acocmpanaed her mother to Temple, was expected home Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs.

C. W. Kuykendall were in Austin Tuesday and Wednesday where Mr. Kuykendall went to a meeting for directors of the L. C.

R. A. REGENCY NEWS July are having some nice cool weather since the rains. We to extend our sympathy to the entire family of Mrs. Geo.

Gamer. She will be missed by a number of people. She was a wonderful mother and wife. Mrs. J.

M. Jones is back home after spending two weeks in San Angelo with her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. G. W.

Newsom. Woodie Egger spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs. W. W.

Longmire of Spring Creek. He and Longmire were going to fish. Mr. and Mrs. C.

Jackson of Houston spent Sunday night with us and attended the funeral of Mrs. Geo. Garner Monday at Locker. Mr. and Mrs.

Gene Preedman went to Waco Saturday on business. Mra. Dona Taylor is at home with her son, Clayton Shaw, at Big Valley. Mr. and Mrs.

Ed Jones visited in San Saba Friday with her brother and sister, Kate Underwood and Sam Darvin. Mr. and Mrs. Junior Whitley and children of Ozona visited his mother, Mrs. Irene Whitley, this week.

Hulon Egger is combining maize for Edgar Sealy of Spring Creek. Mrs. L. D. Egger visited in Odessa a few days with her sister-in-law, Mrs.

Elmer Martin. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Smith of Hall Valley visited us a short while one morning this week. We are always glad to see them as they one time lived in this Mrs.

and Mrs. Claude Gauny in San Saba and with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Humphries in Goldthwaite. Mr.

and Mrs. Vance Booker and Linda and Gloria spent Sunday in Comanche with Mr. and Mrs. Mel Booker with Gloria remaining to visit this week with her grandparents and aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs.

Aubrey Graham. Mr. and Mrs. Winston Millican, Mike, Kay and Bob departed the middle of last week for a vacation trip to California, including high points of interest in the state and other vacation spots on the west coast and enroute. They were 'accompanied by 'Mrs.

Miriam Love of Redding, California who had visited with her brother and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Leverett of Pecan Grove and with other relatives and friends. The Millicans will visit with Mrs. Millican's sister, Mrs.
