The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny. Burial of the cremains will be at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Walby was born in Hurley, S.D., and had lived in Montana, North Dakota and Minneapolis before moving to Madrid last year. She was a retired salesclerk with a grocery store in Bismarck, N.D., and enjoyed playing piano. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Qualley of Olathe, and Peggy Orosco of Ankeny; two sons, Charles of Madison, and Ray of Brooklyn Center, a brother, Harley DeLange of Billings, 10 grandchildren; six great and two guardian great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Levi.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Ankeny Funeral Home in Ankeny is handing arrangements. DORIS WARE FETTERS Otley Doris M. Ware Fetters, 82, of Otley died of cancer Monday at Pella Regional Hospital in Pella. Services will be at 1 p.m.

Thursday at Alexander-Johnson Funeral Chapel in Ottumwa, with burial at Shaul Cemetery there. Mrs. Ware Fetters was born in Ottumwa and had lived there most of her life. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Myron Fetters; a son, George Ware of Otley; three stepdaughters, Debra Barnes of Eldon, Doris White of Westchester and Sharon Golland of Council Bluffs; a brother, Guy Scully of Independence, two grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Westover Funeral Home, with burial at Masonic Cemetery. Mr. Trow was born in Des Moines and had lived here most of his life.

He was a retired personnel director with lowa Power and Light Co. and an adjunct instructor with Des Moines Area Community College. He was a Navy veteran. He is survived by a son, Kirk, and a daughter, Julie Van Gundy, both of Urbandale; his mother, Ruth of West Des Moines; a sister, Nancy Tostlebe of Palatine, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Kavanagh House. BERNICE PICKETT Ankeny Bernice Pickett, 86, of Mill-Pond Health Care Center in Ankeny died of cancer there Monday. Services will be 4 p.m.

Thursday at Staves Memorial United Methodist Church in Des Moines, with entombment at Merle Hay Mausoleum here. Mrs. Pickett was born in Des Moines and had lived in Edina, 30 years before moving to Ankeny in 1997. She was a homemaker and enjoyed painting and other art. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Payne of Virginia Beach, a son, Larry of Grand Rapids, a sister, Betty Jane McNeese of Long Beach, a brother, LeRoy Bierwirth of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jean. Friends may call an hour prior to the time of services at the church. VERN CAROLUS Radcliffe Vern Clarence Carolus, 73, of Radcliffe died of a heart ailment Monday at home.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Buckeye, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Buckeye Cemetery. Mr.

Carolus was born in Carthage, S.D., and had lived in Radcliffe most of his life. He had been a farmer and had owned Vern's Body Shop. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three sons, Jeff of Alden, Mike of Des Moines and Troy of Huxley; three daughters, Judi Kirsch of Mason City, Faith Maakestad of Hubbard and Wanda Pelz of Webster City; 10 grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls.

DONNA MILLER Bermuda Dunes, Calif. Donna Marie Miller, 39, of Bermuda Dunes, died of cancer Sunday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Palm Springs Mortuary Ramon Chapel in Cathedral City, Calif. Cremation will follow services.

Mrs. Miller had lived in Des Moines all her life until moving to California 13 years ago. She was a compliance coordinator with Kincaid Plumbing Co. and enjoyed gardening and family activities. She is survived by her husband, Tom; two daughters, Emily Miller at home and Wyndee Kent of Palm Desert, her parents, Betty and John Kent, and a sister, Deborah Kent, all of Palm Desert; three brothers, Doug Kent of Macon, and Dan Kent and Dave Kent, both of Des Moines; and a grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 42600 Cook Palm Desert, Calif. 92260. MORRIS ORMAN West Des Moines Morris Orman, 88, of the 200 block of Alpine Drive, West Des Moines, died of complications of a stroke Friday at Mercy Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Cemetery.

Mr. Orman was born in Ottumwa and had lived in the Des Moines area most of his life. He was a retired mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He is survived by his wife, Leota; and a sister, Yvonne Trull, and a brother, Dwight Orman, both of Portland, Ore.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at McLaren's Funeral Chapel prior to graveside services. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Boone, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Linwood Park Cemetery there. Mr. Myers had lived in Boone all his life. He was a retired engineer with Chicago North Western Railway, an Army veteran of World War and a member of Masons, White Shrine, Elks, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He enjoyed golf and traveling. He is survived by a son, Tim, a daughter, Rose Mary Stuckey, a brother, Don, and a sister, Alice Hutchinson, all of Boone; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Belle. His companion was Fay Seymour of Boone. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m.

Thursday at Schroeder Memorial Chapel in Boone, where the family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. Friday at the church. LLOYD BELL Chariton Lloyd C. Bell, 73, of Chariton died of pancreatic cancer Monday at Lucas County Health Center there.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Russell Cemetery in Russell. Mr. Bell lived in Lucas County all his life. He had been a farmer, had owned and operated Bell's Grave Service and had been a carpenter with Veterans Medical Center in Knoxville.

He was an Army veteran of outdoor the Korean War and and enjoyed sports woodworking. He is survived by a son, Earl of Russell; four daughters, Bonnie Bell of Des Moines and Linda Neer, June Donner and Janet Telleen, all of Chariton; his stepmother, Lola Bell Peterson of Chariton; a stepbrother, Bernard Dewey of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepsister, Jylene Dewey Wright of Evansville, 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a charter member of Prairie City Lions Club and had served on the Prairie City Coop board of directors. Mrs. Fyffe was born in Marion County and had lived in the Tracy area, Laurel and Buena Park, before moving to Attica in 1999. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by five daughters, Alberta McVay of Attica, Mary Ann Berry of Mapleton, Patricia Ford of Lovilia, Judy Goodhue of Newton and Pam Fischer of Indianapolis; a sister, Rachel Marsh of Grants Pass, 30 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. FORMER RESIDENTS Here is information about the deaths of former central lowa residents who moved from the area more than 20 years ago: Richard D. Deitrick, 68, of Waterloo died of lymphoma Sunday at Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville. Mr. Deitrick was born in Knoxville and had lived there as a youth. He moved to the Waterloo area in 1956.

He had worked for Titus the Evansdale Police Department and Wickes Lumber and had owned and operated a garbage service before retiring. Frank T. Milligan, 93, of Boulder, died of a respiratory ailment there July 20. The body was cremated, and no services are planned. Mr.

Milligan was born in Jefferson and moved to Boulder 40 years ago. He had owned and operated Milligan Bros. Lumber and Grain. Howe Mortuary in Boulder handled arrangements. DES MOINES DEATHS HAWKINS Juanita, 60, of the 4400 block of Lovington Drive died Monday at Mercy Medical Center.

A Memorial Service will be 1:30 PM, Friday, August 24 at UCC Congregational Church, 1000 Willson Webster IA. Visitation 6-8 PM Thursday, August 23 at UCC Congregational Church followed by cremation. His body was donated to the University of Iowa for Research. Kenneth was born in Easton, IL. He became an Elementary School Principal at Webster City Community Schools and retired in 1994. He was in the US Army from 1953-1955. Kenneth was the church treasurer of UCC Congregation Church, past president of Noon Kiwanis Club, member of School Administrators of Iowa, volunteer with Hospice Respite Care of Hamilton County. He was also a volunteer of IOWATER.

Keith A. Miles, 89, of Mitchellville died Sunday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines of complications of surgery. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines, with burial at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Mr.

Miles was born in Fairfield and had lived in the Des Moines area all his life before moving to Mitchellville a year ago. He was a retired truck driver with Yellow Freight and a member of Harvest Assembly of God Church in Huxley. He enjoyed tinkering with cars. He is survived by two sons, Don and Lonnie, and a daughter, Esther Hadley, all of Des Moines; a brother, Richard of Durant; a sister, Dorothy Stodgel of Carlisle; seven grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret.
