GLADYS MARTENS Winterset AGNES MARTHA WILSON Knoxville TADD BAINUM Norwalk SHIRLEY 0VERTURF Ames -t Services for Agnes Martha Wilson will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church Chapel in Knoxville at 10:30 am with Rev. Art Hill and Chaplain Bill Lane officiating. Interment will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Eureka Cemetery, rural Marion County, Iowa.

Friends may call at Williams Funeral Home from noon (12 p.m.) till 8 p.m. on Friday. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Wilson may be given to the Knoxville First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Central Iowa. Agnes Martha Wilson was born May 16, 1915 on the family farm north of Harvey, Iowa.

She was one of two children born to Ticia Dykstra and John Lester Durham. Agnes graduated from Harvey High School in 1933. She worked as the Harvey postmistress for a few years. Agnes Martha Durham was united in marriage to Rupert Raymond Wilson January 2, 1937. Rupert farmed while Agnes handled the bookkeeping for the family farm.

She was also an excellent cook and prepared the meals for the working men and farm hands. Agnes was an excel-lent pianist. She and Rupert spent many hours entertaining people with their musical skills. Agnes lived her entire life in Marion County. She was an active member of the Knoxville First United Methodist Church Agnes passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Griffin's Nursing Center at the age of 93 years, ten months and 22 days.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and brother, Lester Durham. Mrs. Wilson is leaves a dear friend, Muriel Goe-maat of Knoxville as well as several nieces and Easter events on Saturday Adel Easter Egg Hunt, Dallas County Courthouse, 801 Court Adel. Free. Ames Jaycets Spring Egg Hunt.

Gladys Martens age 100, was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Westbridge Care Center in Winterset.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church near Van Meter where a visitation will be held one hour prior to services beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Gladys Ida Petri was born July 15, 1908 to Charley and Mary Petri of Adair.

She was baptized September 6, 1908 at St. John's Lutheran Church north of Adair. The family moved to Dexter when she was age three. Gladys graduated from Dexter High School and then attended Drake University. She taught school for eleven years.

In 1939 she was united in marriage to Grant J. Martens. Following their marriage they moved to a farm in Madison County. They were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church near Van Meter where Gladys taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aid and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She also served on the district board of the L.W.M.L.

Gladys is survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1997; and two sisters, Clara Weisbrod and Cora Martens. I 'Ochiltree Funeral Service Fairbank MARTS Dorothy K. Marts, 60, closed her Irish eyes for the last time and went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m.

Tuesday April 14, 2009, at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, with burial at Sunny Hill Cemetery, Grimes. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Dorothy was born February 16, 1949, to Dale and Isabel Marts in Des Moines. She worked for the IRS for 32 years, retiring in 2007.

Dorothy enjoyed going on cruises and horse racing. She had a true love for animals. Dorothy touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Dorothy is survived by Larry Maxwell and family of Winterset with whom she shared her life for 25 years; sister, Mary Ann Marts of Des Moines; many cousins, aunts, uncles and many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by parents.

Memorial Contributions may be made to All Saint's Catholic Church or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Dorothy. Dorothy's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Ben Collins, Dr. Michael Witte, her home healthcare nurse, Chris Wiseman and Mercy Hospital (9 North) for their excellent care and compassion. David was fortunate to have been a member of three organizations: Link Associates, Mainstream Living, and Mosaic. At all three places, David received loving care and i gained many new friends. Arkansas died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County, Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on November 9, 1942 in Moline, Illinois to Mary Kay and Harold Jones. Ken received an undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Illinois in DeKalb, Illinois and did graduate work at Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division.

He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious achievement. Ken retired as a director from John Deere after 37 years of service. In addition, he served his community as a board member of the Girl Scouts of America, Junior Achievement, Mended Hearts coach, youth mentor, and active member of Highlands Church. Ken loved spending time with his family, boating, driving his Mustang convertible, golfing, reading, traveling and entertaining. Ken's passion in life was people.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Nancy, married for 42 of the best years. Ken was the proud father of two daughters, Beth Jones of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Cathy Showalter of Cedar Falls, Iowa; father-in-law of Brett Showalter and papa of Sophie and Gabe Show-alter. Also surviving is his brother, Bob Jones of Mesa, Arizona. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m.

She worked as a teacher in Oak Park, IL. She was a member of Pres-byterian Church of the Cross, the Order of the Eastern Star, and LaGrange, IL Women's Garden Club.

Esther is survived by her son, Delmar "Denny" Sce-longe of Iron Mountain, MI; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands John C. Scelonge and Arthur Janes; her daughter, Diana Redies; four sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
