(Campbell) Halls, was born February 23, 1935 in Wayne County, IA. He died at the Decatur County Hospital emergency room in Leon, IA on 1 Monday, April 7, 2003. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Funeral April 10 at the Slade-O'Donnell Home in Leon, IA. Humeston Cemetery in Humeston, IA.

James was known as Jim and Buster. He graduated from Leroy High School in 1953. He lived most of his life in the Leroy and Weldon area. On September 8, 1957 he married Janice Colleen Farr of Murray. Three children were born to this union, Shelly, Sherry and Bret.

After their marriage, Jim and Janice lived in Des Moines until 1961 when they moved to the farm near Weldon. Jim continued to work in Des Moines until 1964 when he started farming full time. Jim enjoyed reading, going to tractor pulls and Mormon Trail High School basketball games, and meeting his friends for coffee. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Osceola, IA and the Masons in Humeston, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Louise Stark and husband Donald; and brother-in-law, Robert Dooley.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Halls of Weldon; three children, Shelly Snook and husband Jeff of Carlisle, Sherry Halls of Anchorage, AK, and Bret Halls of Milo; four grandchildren, Brianna and Adam Snook, and Dalton and Jordyn Halls; a sister, Evelyn Dooley of Mesa, AZ; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends. ROBIN JO DWINELL Redfield JAMES LYLE HALLS Weldon Robin passed away at Mercy Medical Center Hospital in Des Moines on Monday, April 7, 2003 at the age of 28. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11 at Fisher Funeral Home in Redfield. Burial will be at Wiscotta Cemetery in Redfield.

She was born in Des Moines on February 24, 1975 to Joseph R. and Ruth I. (Ramsey) Dwinell. Robin is survived by her mother, Ruth; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Tim Bissell; nephew, Roman Joseph Bissell; aunt, Joanne Moen; two uncles, James and Bob Ramsey; and cousins. Robin was preceded in death by her father, Joseph; grandmother, Louise Gordon; and uncle, Chuck Ramsey.

A time of visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kidney Foundation. JACK EUGENE DAVIS Des Moines Jack Eugene Davis, 59, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at his home from a heart attack. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m.

Friday at the Laurel Hill Cemetery. Jack was a retired truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; three daughters, Sherry Secor, Clorina Davis and Jackie Consolver; his mother, Clora J. Davis; his sister, Judy Blanchard; and five grandchildren, Amanda Davis, Bradly Consolver, Christopher Secor, Tiffany Consolver and Tabitha Consolver. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

(Stensland) Beach. She lived in Roland her entire life. June worked for Lee's Upholstery for over 30 years, retiring in July 2002. On November 23, 1958 she married John Lee in Nevada, IA. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Roland.

June loved butterflies and hummingbirds, and collected candles. She is survived by her husband, John Lee of Roland; three sons, Robert Lee of Des Moines, Allen Lee of Roland and Jim Lee of Sioux City; a sister, Helen (and husband Chuck) Harrell of Ocala, FL; and two granddaughters, Paula Lee and Kathryn Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Homer Lee; and a brother, Charles Beach. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 11 at SoderstrumLarson Funeral Home in Story City, with the family present after 6:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or Israel Family Hospice House. DICK CROSS Indianola JUNE H. LEE Roland Dick Cross, 57, of Indianola, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston of heart failure. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11 at Brown's Chapel south of Indianola.

Burial will be in the Liberty Center Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dee; three sons, Ron and Charles Cross, both of Indianola, and Don Cross of Denver, CO; two daughters, Lisa Cross and Tammy Baybayan, both of Indianola; his mother, Vera Cross; two brothers, Gary and Terry Cross; two sisters, Sue Edgington and Pam Crook; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friday, April 11 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial at White Oak Cemetery in Elkhart. John was born in Nevada, IA and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a farmer and also worked as a janitor for North High School in Des Moines. John was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Brown of Des Moines; two daughters, Mary VanDorn of Clinton and Alice Srukel of Eveleth, MN; and a nephew, Duane Severson of Ames. He was preceded in death by his first wife, LaVone Brown. Visitation is from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. Friday, April 11 at Hamilton's Funeral Home.

Nieces and nephews survive. She was a former resident of Manly, lowa. Virginia D. Neuman, 80, of Des Moines, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at home. Services are 10:00 a.m.

Friday, April 11 at McLaren's Funeral Chapel, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Virginia was born on May 12, 1922 in Des Moines and had lived in West Des Moines since 1925. She had been a clerk at Dahl's, and was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Des Moines. She is survived by two sons, Thomas and his wife Deb of Des Moines and Tim of West Des Moines; a brother, Wilbur Stanton of West Des Moines; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Neuman; and her son, Richard Neuman Jr. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at McLaren's Funeral Chapel. NEUMAN Des Moines Catherine Suzanne Brown, 42, born September 20, 1960 in Grinnell, lowa, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2003 in Evansdale. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at the Ohio Cemetery in Ladora, IA. She is survived by her parents, Darlene Brown of Grinnell, IA and Earl Brown of Maryville, MO. Other survivors include her five brothers and sisters, Laura Margeson of lowa City, Patricia Conkel, Beverly Brown, Steven Brown and Timothy Brown, all of Des Moines; and five nieces and nephews.

Wilkening, 57, of Newton, died from complications of cancer on Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at the First Presbyterian Church, 220 N. 2nd Ave in Newton. The body will be cremated following the service, and a private family burial will be held at Newton Union Cemetery in Newton at a later date.

Sharon was born on January 27, 1946 in Montezuma, IA. She grew up in Montezuma, and lived in Marengo, IA for two years and Ashland, MO for a year before moving to Newton, where she lived for 31 years. She was a graduate of Montezuma High School in 1964 and received her B.A. from Central College in Pella, IA. On May 31, 1969 she married George H.

Wilkening in Montezuma, IA. Sharon was a florist who owned and operated Wilkening Enterprises for 15 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, TTT, PEO, National Education Association and her bridge and luncheon groups. She is survived by her husband, George of Newton; a son, Craig Wilkening of Los Angeles, CA; a daughter, Dianna Wilkening of Decorah; and her parents, Frank C. and Lorna L.

Bryan of Montezuma, IA. Friends may call after 12:00 p.m. Friday, April 11 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton, where the family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Dollars For Scholars or to Hospice of Jasper County. Howard, 73, died April 3, 2003 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in Texas. A memorial Service will be in held in memory of Lonnie and his deceased wife, Imogene, Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Mrs. Howard died May 14, 1999 and was cremated.

Cremation will take place for Mr. Howard before visitation and service. Burial will be at Powers-Warren Cemetery in Adelphi, IA. Ernest was the owner of lowa Industrial Erectors Corp. and retired in 1986.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Des Moines Consistory, Za Ga Zig Shrine, Chapter Eastern Star, Iron Workers and AFL He is survived by three daughters, Donna Smith of Long Beach, CA, Beckie Penney of Largo, FL and Jackie Wilson of West Des Moines; one son, David Howard of Des Moines; one brother, Bill Howard of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
