Simpson Creek HD Club Has Program By Agent The Simpson Creek Home Demonstration Club met July 21 at the club house with the program being given by the Home Demonstration Agent. Mrs. Bernice B. Murray gave a discussion of "Furniture for the Home." "Home furnishings should be planned to add comfort, restfulness, beauty, cheerfulness, convenience and order and to help you spend your money wisely to achieve good family living," stated Mrs. Murray.

Things to consider when buying furniture is the construction, value per dollar spent, and the place it will be used in the home. She stressed learning how to judge quality when shopping, and buy as little as possible until you know exactly what you want. All accessories should add to the planned color scheme and should be arranged with care. Each picture should be so placed that it adds beauty to a piece of furniture or furniture group. A high standard of cleanliness is necessary but a homemaker should refrain from being so fussily clean that her family and guests are ill at ease.

Finished wood and wipe dry, then wax or Zack Patton. woods should be cleaned occasion-1 ally with a good cleaning agent such as: 2 tablespoons boiled linseed oil, 2 tablespoons turpentine and 1 quart of hot water. With a sponge or cloth clean the treat with 3 parts boiled linseed oil to 1 part of turpentine. Allow to stand about 30 minutes, wipe off surplus oil mixture and buff with soft cloth. The oil treatment applied every 6 months will lengthen the period between refinishing of woods.

It is very good for dry climates.
