sales executive, died Sunday morning in his residence in Birmingham, Mich. He had been ill for some time. Until Jan. 1 Mr. Hess was manager of the Detroit sales office, Republic Steel's largest district sales office.

Since that lime, because of poor health, he had been acting in a consulting capacity. MR. HESS attended Kiski preparatory school. He played football the Great Lakes Naval Training Center team during World War I and for a short time was with the professional Massillon Tigers. He was one of a group of persons who helped bring David B.
