Ruder is a four-year letter winner with the Texas Fighting Aggies volleyball team. She served as their student-manager.

She will soon begin a teaching career in Frisco. Texas. Ruder's parents are Donna and Ron Ruder, formerly of Hays. Her grandparents are Tony and the late Artnella Ruder. Hays, and Velma and Don Garvert.
