D2 THE HAYS DAILY NEWS FAMILY ALBUM SUNDAY, JANUARY 8,2006 Halls of Ivy Marissa A. Ruder graduated Dec. 16 from Texas University with a bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Ruder is a four-year letter winner with the Texas Fighting Aggies volleyball team. She served as their student-manager.

She will soon begin a teaching career in Frisco. Texas. Ruder's parents are Donna and Ron Ruder, formerly of Hays. Her grandparents are Tony and the late Artnella Ruder. Hays, and Velma and Don Garvert.

Plainville. Emporia State University awarded scholarships for the 200506 academic year. She will continue her studies in esthiology. Jacobs Fort Hays State University's Paula Boire, professor of music, Joseph Perniciaro, instructor of music, and six students attended the regional National Association of Teacher's of Singing competition in Lincoln, Neb.

One of Perniciaro's students, Callie Schlegal, Ogallah special undergraduate, plaqe in the Three of Perniciaro's students were semi-finalists: Blake Connelly, Ellis freshman; Emily Cline, Lyons sophomore; and Kyle Zecha, Hoisington senior. Two of Boire's private students, Karl Pratt, Hoxie High School senior, placed third in the category and Shelia Dickerson, Thomas More Prep- Marian High School, Hays, sophomore, placed in the semi-finalists. Fort Hays State University students majoring in information- and telecommunications toured Denver recently in a trip sponsored by the Advanced Technology Student Organization and the Department of INT. Tours covered different information and media oriented organizations such as Wall Street on Demand, Level 3, Sun Microsystems, Comcast, Channel 9, Colorado Studios, Invesco Field's IT and Media teams, Denver Health, Sirius and other networking organizations. and Mrs. Marvin Beougher, Grainfield, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Grainfield, hosted by their children. Their children arc Marlin and Barb Beougher, Jetmore, and Marvel and Doug Blank, Valley Center.

Grandchildren are Brandon and Amber Beougher, Oakley, Tyler, Chelsie and Dalton Beougher, Jetmore, and Meghann Blank, Valley Center; and a great- granddaughter, Savannah Beougher, Oakley. Marvin and Marilea (Johnson) Beougher were married Feb. 12, 1956, at Gove United Methodist Church. The couple requests no gifts. Mr.

and Mrs. John Johnson, Hays, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Dec. 2,2005. Their children are Leigh and Gary Mabb and Tom Johnson, all of Hays; Carol and Gale Wood and Chris and Perry Dietz, all of Russell, and Becki Johnson, Chadron, Neb. They have 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.

John and Marge (Henn) Johnson were married Dec. 2, 1945, at the home of her parents, Hays. Hands-Miller Mr, and Mrs. Bill Deeds Mr. and Mrs.

Bill will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary Jan. 10, 2006. Their children are Zach and Nicole Deeds, Salt Lake City, and Danny and Sara Gutierrez, Abilene, Texas. Bill and Janice Deeds were married Jan. 10,1976, at Hays.

Weimer-Hedge Shelli Weimer and Brian Hedge were married July 16, 2005, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Kansas City, with Father Weiss officiating. The parents of the couple are Don and Norma Weimer, Hays, and Doug and Linda Hedge, Hays. Grandparents are Helen Hedge, Hays, and the late Duane Hedge, Don and Sonia Yonker, Kansas City, the late Joe and Oliva Dreher and the late Fred and Theresa Weimer. The bride was escorted by her father.

Anna Weimer, cousin of the bride, was honor attendant. Attendants were Larissa Bliese, friend of the couple, Sarah Weimer, sister-in-law of the bride, and Haylee Hedge, sister of the bridegroom. Personal attendant to the bride was Lindsay Cooper, friend of the couple. The best man was Tyson Hutchison, friend of the couple. Groomsmen were Andrew Hedge, brother of the bridegroom, and Jared Hedge, cousin of the bridegroom.

The bride graduated from Hays High School and is attending Kansas City Kansas Community Cpllege. She is employed at Capital Federal Savings Bank.

The bridegroom graduated from Thomas More Prep-Marian High, School and DeVry University with a bachelor's degree in network and communications management. He is employed as a computer network administrator by Alternative Transport Inc. of Kansas City- The newlyweds are at home in Overland Park. Army National Guard Pvt. Jimmy L. Kirk has graduated from the Unit Supply Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at the Quartermaster Battalion, Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va. The course is designed to train students to receive, inspect, segregate, store, inventory, issue, deliver and turn-in organizational and installation supplies and equipment; maintain automated supply systems for accountability with use of unit computers; issue and receipt of small arms, and secure and control weapons and ammunition supplies. He is the son of Delores Frosto Garcia of La Crosse and John Wayne'Kirk of Gorham.

Kirk is a 2005 graduate of Crosse High School.
