Cordiner of New York, above, is The Indiana Auto License branch office here formally changed hands today, going from the Democrat administration to the Republicans as a result of the GOP victory in the November election. Mrs. Kathryn Davis Maier, county GOP vice-chairman, ok over as manager, succeeding Mrs. Hubert McNealy, daughter of Glen T. Harden, county Democrat chairman.

A state audit of the office, made with changes in managerships, was completed this morning. Mrs. Maier announced that Miss Rosalyn Nolting will serve as a permanent assistant in the office and that Mrs. Virginia Wilhite also will assist during times of peak business. Miss Nolting has been working in the Bartholomew County Agricultural Conservation office at the courthouse.

All managerships of auto license branch offices over the state are being changed as a result of the victory of Leland L. Smith, Republican, over Charles D. Fleming for secretary of state last November. I Tickets now at Hinkle Music House and Lindsay's The Snapp general store in St. Louis Crossing will be the scene of a community Christmas party on Sunday night as it has on Christmas eve annually for the past 22 years. The program at the general store will be held immediately following the Christmas services at St.

Loihis Crossing Methodist church. Mrs. Snapp hasn't been feeling very well lately and almost decided not to have the party. But as Christmas drew near she changed her mirid, deciding to hold it the same as she had since 1928. The store has ibeen decorated for the occasion with lighted trees both on the, inside and out.

When the party begins, there will be. a prayer by the Rev. Bennett, followed by the appearance of two Santa Clauses with treats for all. In some past years the party at the Snapp store has attracted more than 300 people. Many persons from around the community attend every year.

The party was held from 7:30 to 9:30 o'clock and started with a half-hour of motion pictures, including cartoons, shown by an operator provided by the Boys club. The circus followed with acts by a trained pony, five dogs, a monkey, a clown and a girl juggler. At the close Santa Claus distributed treats to all the children. Arrangements were made by the lodge entertainment committee, headed by Alva Burton, and by Paul Voelz, lodge secretary.

Funeral Rites Held For Rollie Owens Funeral services for Rollie Owens, 81, who died Tuesday in Indianapolis, were held at 10 o'clock this morning at Flatrock cemetery near Clifford. Mr. Owens was a grandson of Nathaniel Owens, who received the original grant of land from the government near Owens bridge between Taylorsville and Clifford. Among the survivors Is a daughter. Miss Kettle Owens, of Hens 11 to 16 lbs.

Driver is Fined $50 On Drinking Charge William Marshall; 22, Route 2, airman at Atterbury Air Force base, was fined $50 and costs today in Bartholomew county circuit court on a charge of drunken driving. Marshall was arrested at 11:50 o'clock Thursday night at Seventh street and Lafayette avenue by city police after he failed to stop at a stop sign. Judge George W.

Long recommended that he not be issued an Indiana driver's license for one year.
