Flynn, respected Pittston resident, occurred Saturday night at his home, 272 Mill street following an illness. Mr.

Flynn has resided Pittston for many years and was widely acquainted in "hiss and nearby communities. He a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and its Holy Name Society. Surviving are his widow and two sisters: Mrs. Bridget O'Brien, Woodbridge, N.

and Mrs. Ellen McGovern, Pittston. Funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 9 from the home with requiem mass at 9:30 St. John's Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

James Valenti Off For Service James Valenti of 43 Frothingham street, Pittston, left today fnr induction at Wilkes-Barre as a replacefor the March 3rd of Pittston, City, draft board 13. Valenti, who was picked as a member of the March 14 quota will be replaced in that quota by Michael Angelo, of 19 Price street. Mrs. Anna Vitale Buried At Exeter Funeral of Mrs. Anna Vitale was held this morning from the late home, 54 Lincoln street, Exeter, and was a fitting tribute to her memory.

Scores of persons attended the rites and there were numerous floral tokens. High mass of requiem was celebrated in St. Anthony's Church by Rev. George Marenco. Burial was in the Italian Independent cemetery, Forty Fort.

Guidance Parley Largely Attended A marked increase in attendance over previous years was noted at the third annual vocational guidance conference held Saturday at West Pittston High School under the auspices of the Pittston Kiwanis Club. Officers report there were 626 students present, increase of 155 over the 1940 attendance. Cameron Beck, nationally known vocational guidance counselor, spoke Business Requires of Its Personnel." City-Wide Projects To Be Idle Tuesday Thomas Delaney, supervisor of city projects, announced today that all city-wide projects, also the Laurel Creek project, will be idle tomorrow due to the heavy snow fall. These projects will resume on Wednesday. M. Nicheporchik, Duryea Vet, Dies Michael 1 Nicheporchik, disabled Duryea World War veteran, died on Saturday at United States Naval Hospital, Philadelphia, where he had been a patient since December. Deceased was born in Russia and had resided in Duryea for the past 26 known years, where he was widely and respected.

At the outset of the World War in 11917 he enlisted in the United State Army and served eight months in France where he He was gassed and wounded in action was an active member of Brennan-Regan Post, American Legion of Duryea, and for some time. was secretary-treasurer of the organization. He was a member of St. Michael's Russian Church, Old Forge. The body has taken to the family home, Donnelly street, Duryea, from where the funeral will be held will Thussday morning.

Scranton Printer, Well Known Here, Taken By Death Anthony J. Mahon, for 60 years had been employed as printer and proofreader on Scranton newspapers, died yesterday morning at St. Mary's Hospital, Scranton, following an appendicitis operation. Mr.

Mahon, a native of the Bellevue section of Scranton, began working on Scranton newspapers when 12 years of age as a typesetter's apprentice on the Scranton Time In Scranton later years Tribune he and worked other on papers that came into the publishing field periodically in that area. He retired several months ago. The body has been taken to the family home, 507 River street, Scranton, from where the funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9 with a mass in the Church of the Nativity. Mahon was also acquainted in Pittston having the former Catherine Jordan city, who married, survives. He is also survived by eight nieces and eight nephews. Mrs. Wm. Haines Borne To Rest Funeral of Mrs.

William Haines was held this morning from the home, 80 Main street, Inkerman, and was a deserving tribute to her memory. The rites were attended by scores of persons the numerous floral tributes arete further evidence of the esteem in which she was held. Hooper are both prominent in Upper Luzerne county good health despite their advanced" years. Mr. Hooper for many was employed as a pump runner for the Pennsylvania coal company, retiring about five years ago. He is a native of England but came to this country in early former manhood. Mrs.

Fred Krumm, 327 Baltimore avenue, West Pittston. Mrs. Mary Salerno Funeral of Mrs. Mary Salerno, spinal meningitis, victim, was held Saturday the home of her father-in-law, Frank Salerno, 202 Barber Old Forge, and was strictly private. Burial was in West Pittston cemetery.

Casketbearers were John and Caesar Diasio, brothers of the deceased; Anthony and Nicholas Salerno, brothers-in-law and Bruno Malecki. Mrs. Salerno, the former Mary Diasio, of West Pittston, was stricken with spinal meningitis on Tuesday night of last week. She died in the hospital Thursday night. Frank Santee Funeral of Frank Santee was held Saturday afternoon from the home, 234 Liberty street, West Pittston, and was largely attended.

Services were conducted the home by Rev. J. Rolland Crompton, of the First Methodist Church, West Pittston, and burial was in Edge Hill Cemetery, West Nanticoke. Tel. Pittston 1182 Snow Traffic Cop Ousted From 'Post' It was a short-lived career for the 10-foot snowman likeness of a traffic cop that graced the roadway near the Old Forge borough building. The snowman was built Saturday by some industrious Old Forge boys. Yesterday a motorists "killed" the officer when his car crashed into the towering frame. The snowman, a husky, huge officer, was supposed to have stood on duty until Old Sol melted away.

Solons Want Snow Cleared Off Walks Councilmen have issued a warning to the public that all sidewalks the borough must be cleared of snow. Many walks are reported in dangerous condition and pedestrians are endangered. It was made known over the week that the police will be instructed to make their rounds and compel all to comply. Those failing to cooperate may be taken before the burgess for a hearing. Street Commissioner Placido Cicchillitti has his men clearing snow from intersections and rother unoccupied areas, but is helpless, due to lack of sufficient help, or funds for this work.
