A reply, dated the 12th of Jane, enclosing his photograph, was sent.

The letter with the photographic likeness were shown to our reporter. Written in the German language, with a clear, bold chirogrophy, on larre-sised note paper is- the letter from the general who has made his name so famous throughout the civilized world. He tells his great-grand nephew that he desires him to Prussia and he would put him on. the same footing as the sou of a nobleman by which he would be subjected to but two exarninatiens.be-fore entering the army. a 'Therein no doubt that the letter is genuine, and that the young man is a relative of Von Moltke.

He is retiring in his manners, and was rather averse to having any publicity given to his family.
