On April 5th Frank Ward, a peddler, twelve milts from Center Point. In Howard eounty, was Induced to dine at Polk's bouse. Then, by request, and accompanied by the younger Folk, he started to visit a neighbor At tbe first creek Polk shot War through the bead, then with bis accomplices -tbe older Polk and Kirkendall burned tbe body and pulverized the bones. Ward's brother, John, missed frank about Hay 1st, when tbey bad engaged to meet Dan Ward at Pres-cott. Deputy Sheriff Regan and Marshal Grayson started on May 10th Irom here and scoured tbe country.

The grand jury has been discharged, after finding forty-nine true bills and ignoring twelve. There are now nineteen murder cases on the criminal docket. Deputy Marshal Andrews brought in eight prisoners yesterday. About Ufty cases have been disposed of, counting those ignored by the grand jury. Two horse thieve were shot at Tulsa, Indian Territory, one day last week, by the Indian police. One died, and tbe other escaped with a bullet in his arm. Among the prisoners brouuht Iu by Mershon this week, is Charlie Carter, alias Charlie Reed, a notorious negio murderer, whisky peddler, horse thief, etc. Ho carries a severe wound in tbe side.
