It has been reported to the treas ury department that the British parliament is considering measures looking to the interdiction of cattle from loretgn countries wnere tne foot aud mouth disease prevails, and that an attempt will probably be made to have it apply to Importa tions from the United States. It is stated at the treasury department that such an application would be unwarranted, as a thorough investigation of the subject, just concluded, has shown that ttie toot auu moutn diseases, do not prevail amoung cat tle in this couutrv. The working of a number of the Western I'nion wires was seriously interfered with today, the circuit being brokeu with connecting lines by means of line copper wires.
