2A THE BELLEVILLE OPE Thursday, August 15, 2002 Pe BRZON HOSTETLER Mike Linda Brzon of Courtland announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan, to Corbin Hosteller, son of Curtis Bobbie Hostetler of Harper. Brzon is a graduate of Piice Valley High School and Kansas State University with degrees in Dietetics, Human Nutrition, and Kinesiology. She recently completed the dietetic internship program at Oregon Health and Sciences Universilv. Portland, OR. Hostetler is a graduate of Chaparral High School and Kansas Slate University with a degree in Agricultural Economics.

He is engaged with his family's wheat and cattle farming operation in Harper and is the assistant boys basketball coach at Chaparral High School. Grandparents of the couple are: Max Phyllis Thayer, Republic; the late Lorcn Narveene Brzon, Belleville; Violet Olmstead, Anthony; Dwight Hatfield, Wellington; Alma Hostetler and the late Albert Hosteller, Harper. The couple will be married on October 12, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia. Palecek Shower Dominik Palecek, bride-elect of Clark Siemsen, was showered with personal gifts Saturday, August 3, at the Brian Grace home. Hostesses were Julie and Emilce Dietz, and Anne Grace and Bryn Carlson.

Guests enjoyed a brunch, then played a trivia game about the bride and groom. Dominik's mother, Kim Palecek, her future mother-in-law, Lori Siemsen, and her sisters and grandmother were among the guests. Kasl's Host Dinner Mike Carolyn Kasl hosted a dinner Sunday. Guests were: Jeff Michel Scott, Macee and Mia, Highland; Greg Annette Melz, Taylor and McKenzie, Washington; Marilyn Lovgren, Morrowville; Raymond Kathy Splichal. Mim- dcn; Mary Tuma, Mary Kasl, Scott Laurie Kasl, Courtney and Tyler, and Tom Joan Grover, all of Belleville.

Birthdays were celebrated for Greg Metz, Scott Kasl, Mary Tuma, and Tom Grover. Birth Bob Deanna Morris, Belleville, are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Emma Lynn, born July 25, 2002. Grandparents are Maurice Barb Gieber, James Wendy Popelka, Belleville, and the late Dale Morris. Great- grandparents are Stanley Mary Popelka, Belleville; Jerome Marge Hanson, Poison, MT; Guido Agnes Brincks; Ann Whiinable, New Hampton, lA; and the laie Alvena Gieber. Great- great grandmother is Mary Williams, Milford, NE.

John Catholic Church, Clyde, with Father LeRoy Metro officiating. Tlie bride wore a while satin gown with pearl beading detail. The halter neckline accented the v-shaped bodice that was detailed with an intricate embroidery pal- tern. A split front princess skirt was adorned with pearls and beading. A full chapel length train was accented with the same patlern.

The gown had a inatching shawl. The bride carried a round bouquet of sunflowers and white roses thai was tied with a periwinkle ribbon. Maid of Honor was Callihan, Clyde, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were: Melissa Siemens, llesston, friend of the bride; Jennifer l.ihy, Concordia, friend of the bride; Kelly Larson, Hope, friend of the bride; and Lora Gieber, Belleville, sister-in-law of the bride. They wore floor- length bultercream colored dresses with sleeves with rhincsiones that accented the empire waist.

The Bestinan was Terry Blackwood, Clyde, brother of the groom. Groom's Attendants were: Larry Blackwood, Wichita; Gary Blackwood, Soldier; DJ Blackwood, Westmoreland; and Lance Blackwood, Aurora, CO, all brothers of the groom. Ushers were Jeff Callihan, Clyde, Bob Pierce, Clyde, Pete Bergstrom, Clyde, and Chad Gieber, Belleville, brother of the bride. Candlelighters were Kari Lewis and Christy Claycamp. Flower Girl was Maycee Callihan, niece of the bride.

Ring Bearer was Trevor Lowell, great-nephew of the groom. Those attending to the guest book were Julie Nagel and Kelly Melton. Personal Attendants were Trisha Wurtz and Jo Mikesell, both of Concordia. A reception was held at the Clyde Veteran's Club. Decorations included yellow periwinkle tablecloths with grapevine garlands and clay pots wooden wheelbarrows filled with silk flowers.

Host couples were: Leroy Pat Pearson, Clyde, Aunt Uncle of the bride; Nick Flo Gieber, Topeka, Auni Uncle of the bride; Garry Terri Bunch, Cuba, Aunt Uncle of the bride; and Sam Lora Wiruth, Cuba, friends of the bride. The bride is a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a degree in physical education. She is an adapted physical education teacher with LCNCK, Concordia. The groom received a degree in chiropractic medicine from Palmer College, Davenport, Iowa. He is a chiropractor at Blackwood Chiropractic Center in Concordia.

Parents of the couple are Butch Linda Gieber, Cuba, and Dr. Dean Madeline Blackwood, Clyde. Grandparents of the bride are Vernor Jean Bunch, Cuba, and Edna Gieber, Belleville. Great-grandmother of the bride is Veda Taylor, Haddam. After a five day Carnival Cruise, the couple is at home in Clyde.

Twins Celebrate 2nd Brailyn and Brody Carlgren, twin children of Troy Allison Carlgren, Courtland, celebrated their second birthday Friday, August 2, 2002, at their home with a supper. Family and friends in attendance were: older brother Dawson, Courtland; great- grandparents Ivan Aileen Carlgren, Norway, and Marvel Beeler, Randall; grandparents Robert Emily Carlgren, Norway, and Don Shirley Bigham, Randall; Aunt Tarra and cousins Dane, Dylan, and Drew Freberg of Overland Park; Aunt Terelle Carlgren of Lawrence; Uncle Brad, Aunt Steph, and cousins Shelby, Jake, and Sydney Barrett, Randall; Great Aunt Cathy Tebow, Courtland; Myron Reed, Belleville; and Marie Brewer, Norway. Belleville Library Junior Volunteers This year's junior volunteer at the Belleville Public Library worked a total of 12S hours. They put away books, presented a puppet show, and helped with other library tasks.

Each year young pcoi)le who have completed the sixth grade are eligible to apply to be summer volunteers at the library during the summer reading program. This year's volunteers were: B.J. Boman, son of Lonnie Diane Boman; Alyssa Derowitsch, daughter to Deanna Kevin Derowitsch; Travis Mann, son of Pamela Fabiano; Ashley Moravek, daughter of Donna Tom Moravek; Nathan Poppe, son of Steve Cindy Poppe; and Zach Warner, son of Deb Barry Warner, The volunteers were rewarded for their work with certificates and a taco party on July 25. Jeardoe Reunion The annual Jeardoe Reunion was held July 20 at the Norway Gym. A catered meal was served.

Schneider, WA, JOHNSON LEHMAN Jennifer Leigh Johnson and Martin Allen Lehman were united in marriage on May 31, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Geneva, NE. The ceremony was held at 6 p.m. with Pastor Brian Kotlas officiating. Parents of the couple are Allen Marcy Johnson of Geneva, NE and Ron Cecilia Lehman of Tribune. Grandparents are Harold Betty Johnson of Belleville; Marcy Mae Chaloupka of Belleville; and Ann Martin of Hemdon.

The bride was escorted by her parents. She wore a matte satin beaded tank-top floating bodice with a square neck-line and a simple skirt with a detachable plain train. Her jewelry included an heirloom pin that belonged to her great- grandmother. Her veil was white tulle with pearl edging. She carried a bouquet of daises lied with tulle ribbon.

Julinne Johnson Lungrin, Minden, NE and Marcy Anne Johnson, Pittsburg, sisters of the bride, were matrons of honor. Bridesmaids were Tricia Hakonson, Sidney, NE; Anne Peterson, Omaha, NE; Jen Harvey, Kearney, NE; and Amber Popowski, Hesson, all friends of the bride. They wore short sleeve satin and crepe hunter green floor length dresses with an empire bodice and carried daisy bouquets. Junior bridesmaid was Macin- zic Lehman, Tribune, niece of the groom who wore a short sleeve hunter green tea-legnth lace dress and carried a daisy bouquet. THEBl Best man was Ron Lehman, Tribune, father of the groom.

Groomsmen were Dennis Lehman, Tribune, and David Lehman, Tribune, brothers of the groom; Craig Scholz, Manhattan, and Brad Scholz, Junction City, friends of the groom; and Corey Johnson, Kearney, brother of the bride. Junior groomsman was Jimmy Lehman, Tribune, nephew of the groom. Ring bearer was Sean Lehman, Tribune, nephew of the groom. Ushers were Steve Lungrin, Minden, NE and Chris Johnson, Pittsburg, brothers-in-law of the bride. Candlelighters were Jana Carlson, Kearney, NE and Ann Weaver, Lincoln, NE, friends of the bride.

Music was provided by Sue Kleinschmidt, Geneva, NE organist, and Micki Walker, Mitchell, NE, soloist, friends of the bride. The wedding coordinator was Dronda Frydendall, Belleville, friend of the bride. A reception and dance was held at die National Guard Armory in York, NE. Hosts were Tim Cathy Fairbanks of Hesston, friends of the bride. Servers were Melinda Lehman, Tribune, and Shavon Lehman, Tribune, sisters-in-law to the groom.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Geneva High School in Geneva, Nebraska and a 2000 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney. She is a travel coordinator for the University of South Florida athletic department. The groom is a 1989 graduate of Greeley County High School in Tribune, Kansas; a 1993 graduate of Hastings College; and a 1998 graduate of Kansas State University. He is a strength and conditioning coach for the University of South Florida in Tampa. After a delayed honeymoon to Disney World, the couple is at home in Tampa.
