He was a self-employed mechanic and a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Among survivors are three daughters, Latoya Brown, Rogneisha Thompson and Rozlynn Rankin, all of Des Moines; three stepdaughters, Jo Thompson of Taylor and Jamie Taylor and Tyneka Taylor, both of Des Moines; his parents, Bill Rankin and Bertha Rankin, both of Taylor; two brothers, Jessie Lee of Taylor and Willie Author of Dallas, Texas; five sisters, Emma Rankin of Des Moines, Alma Rankin of Springfield, and Mae Bell Rodford, Betty Rankin and Willie Bea Rankin, all of Taylor; and his grandmother, Azzie Lewis of Taylor. Arlene Reese, 72, of 2411 E. 36th St. died of cancer Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 1 1 a.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Reese was born in Des Moines and returned VA years ago from Minnesota, where she had lived 25 years. She was a homemaker and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Jack; a son, Sam of Windsor Heights; three sisters, Mary Carpenter of Des Moines and Norma Lane and Beverly Kiefer, both of Indianola; a brother, Eugene Breton of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

No services are planned and private burial of the cremains will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. A previous obituary omitted a brother, Don of Britain, S.D., and two sisters, Ester Slaight of Britain and Coreen Slaight of Phoenix, from a list of survivors. She had been a cook at Dexter Community Sc1kk)1s and was a member of Dexter American Legion Auxiliary, Dexter Garden Club and United Methodist Women. Surviving are two daughters, Juanita Brading and Vivian Lawson, both of Dexter; a sister, Viola Fitzgerald of Fort Collins, eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Monica "Cecilia" Walter, 89, of Bishop Drumm Care Center, 5837 Winwood Drive, Johnston, died there Sunday of complications of Alzheimer's disease. The body was cremated and memorial services will be at a later date. Mrs. Walter, who retired as a cashier for Safeway Foods, was born in Early and returned to Des Moines four years ago from California. Lane, 94, of Carlisle died of a kidney ailment Sunday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des i 1 Moines. Services will be at noon I Thursday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be in Berwick Cemetery. Mrs. Lane, a homemaker, was born in Albia and lived in Des Moines most of her life until moving to Carlisle five years ago.

She was a member of Rebekah Lodge. Among survivors are three sons, William of Waterloo and Richard and Robert, both of Des Moines; four daughters, Edna Hamilton of Albia, Alice Stenseth of Calmar, Nadine Taggart of New Port Richey, and Betty Lindell of Hudson, 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchild- ren. Wade Alan Schultze, 31, of Minbura died Monday of injuries suffered in an auto accident near Three Forks, Mont. Services will be graveside at 2 p.m. Friday at Elmwood Cemetery in Minburn. Mr. Schultze was born in Perry and lived in Minburn most of his life.

He was a resident treatment worker at Woodward State Hospital School and a member of Raccoon Valley Sportsman Club. Survivors, all of Minburn, include his wife, Becky; three daughters, Brittany, Tearyn and Lexi; his parents, Larry and Judy Schultze, and his grandmother, Vivian Mitchell. Charles B. Chastain, 84, of Conrad died of a neurological disorder Monday at Oak View Nursing Center, where he was a resident three months. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home in Des Moines. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Chastain was born in Leon and lived in Des Moines 82 years until jnoving to the care center. He retired as a firefighter for the city of Des Moines and was a member of the Iowa Firemen's Association.
