The Celtics won for the first time since Feb. 3, when they beat Toronto on the road.

Boston's 13 consecutive losses tied the team record set in 1994. The Celtics, whose 16 championships are the most in NBA history, improved to 12-46 this season, but are still on pace to break their record for losses in a season with 53. Boston also has the worst record in the Eastern Conference. Drexler still recuperating Clyde Drexler is off the injured list, but Houston said Monday he is not expected to play for a few more days. Drexler, nursing a right hamstring injury for several weeks, is expected to miss tonight's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Drexler was injured Jan. 25 in a 105-100 loss to Utah. He aggravated the hamstring Feb. 4 during the Rockets' 99-95 loss to the New York Knicks. Also Monday, guard Brent Price was placed on the injured list and will be out for the season with a torn ligament in his right knee.

The injury occurred on Feb. 25 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Rockets lost Charles Barkley for at least a week on Saturday when he collided with Dallas center Shawn Bradley. 16 30 Radio 14! 272 20 Natt Losses, shootout losses eaual WOMEN'S BASKETBALL 8 05 Iowa State vs. Texas A Cyclone network total defeats; a point It awarded for SL weights SUNDAY'S GAMES At Ada) Jaherion-Screnton (15-5) vt, Audubon (1S-4) At Aitamota-North Cadar (15-5) vt.

Penguins coach fired Eddie Johnston, his team having lost eight of nine games, was fired as coach of Pittsburgh Monday in a season gone "off course" despite a glut of talent General Manager Craig Patrick will take over the team, which is second to Buffalo in the Northeast Division. Penguins assistant coaches Bryan Trottier and Sick Kehoe coached at practice this morning. "We've got a ship that's off course and listing, and we've got to get it back on course," Patrick said. "It's definitely very painful." Johnston, who drafted Mario Lemienx in 1984, is 232-224-60 in 6W seasons with the Penguins from 1980-83 and since 1993, when he replaced Scotty Bowman. Johnston's Penguins advanced no further than the Eastern Conference finals, losing to Florida in seven games last year.
