Monday at Cathedral Church of St. Paul in at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Frisk was born in Sheldahl arid had lived in Ankeny before moving to Des Moines 28 years ago. She was a retired buyer with Younkers and a member of American Business Women's Association.

She was an excellent cook. Surviving are her husband, Wayne; two sons, Pat Ramsey of Davenport and Roger Ramsey of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Jack Patrick of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Buchanan was born in Mar-shalltown and had lived there until 1995, when she moved to Norwalk. She was the retired owner and operator of Beach Resort of Pine Lake near Eldora and a member of Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are two sons, William of Marshalltown and John of Des Moines; two daughters, Sally Mary Huntoon of Norwalk and Suzanne Hadley of Plymouth, a sister, Cleo Mae Bruce of Union; six grand-chilren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Monday at the funeral home. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be held in conduction with the funeral services. burial will be at a later date. Mrs. Konek was born in Spring Valley, and had lived in Ames before moving to Marshalltown in 1991.

She was a homemaker, an X-ray technician in Spring Valley and had worked at J.C. Penney in Ames. She was a member of Lincoln Valley Golf in State Center and St. Thomas Acqui-nas Catholic Church in Ames. Surviving are her husband, Bernie; a son, Kurt of Monroe; a daughter, Amy Morales of Denver, a sister, Patsy Watson of Spring Valley; and a brother, Paul Pawlak of Carthage, III.

A guest register will be available for signing from noon to 9 p.m. today at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Marshalltown. Mrs. Short was born in Pana, and had lived in the Des Moines area most of her life.

She was a retired cafeteria worker with the Des Moines school system and a member of Dean Avenue Church of Christ. She was a past president of Des Moines Railway. Surviving are two daughters, Mildred Creek of Green Valley, and Etta Dorrell of Des Moines; four sons, Earl, Merle and Will, all of West Des Moines, and Melvin of Lake of the Ozarks, a daughter, Imo-gene Sparks of Indianola; and a brother Chester Donaldson of Spokane, 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral dale Cemetery.

Mrs. Suplee was born in Creston and had lived in Adair before moving to Des Moines, where she had lived most of her life. She had worked for J.C. Penny and was an accouting clerk with US West. She was a member of Iowa Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary and Telphone Pioneers and past president of the local Communications Workers of America Retiree Club.

She enjoyed volunteer work, and was a volunteer at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital gift shop. Surviving are a son, Gary of Monroe; three daughters, Linda Malloy, Karen Rankin and Kathy Wallway, all of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bertraum. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary. Russell. Cremation will follow servic-- es. Burial of the cremains will be at "11 a.m. Tuesday at Corydon Cemetery in Corydon.

Hedges was bom in Cheyenne Wells, and had lived in Des 'Moines from 1941 to 1981. She also had lived in San Francisco and New York City before moving to Russell in 1998. She was a psychotherapist specializing in drug and alcohol counseling. She also was an artist who collected vintage photographs and rare books. She was restoring her grandparents' farm house in Russell.

In addition to her son, Peter of Brooklyn, N.Y., she is survived by two other sons, Joel of Phoenix and Philip of Des Moines; a daughter, Mary Clare Evans of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Shirlee Steinbach of Johnston; and eight grandchildren. Mr. Beck was born near Runnells and had lived in the Ozark and Runnells areas most of his life. Surviving are his wife, Zona; a son, Gary of Runnells; a daughter, Sharon Kline of Altoona; a stepdaughter, Barbara Kirkland of Enid, two sisters, Mary Martin and Clover Rho-ten, both of Runnells; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. MARIE DAY West Des Moines Marie Day, 99, of Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines died of a heart ailment there Thursday. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Graceland Cemetery in Webster Crty. Miss Day was born in Jewell and had lived in Des Moines since 1952. She was a former schoolteacher and -a' retired saleswoman with Younkers.
