Mass Nov. mem ory of previous defeats was forgot ten today in the victory of the Carlisle Indians over Harvard by a score of 23 lo K. For versatility of play the Indian team has not bw.ii equaled on Soldiers' field since th2 new rules went Into effect. Forward passes, delayed kicks and cross passes followed each other In rapid succession until the Harvard players became bewildered and seemed utterly unable to stop the march of the Indians toward their goal. The.

visitors scored twice in the first hnlf and twice in the second, and all the four times on brilliant rushing. The Han-vard points were made on two touchdowns and a goal from placement by Captain Parker, one of the touchdowns were made on fumbles by the Indians directly In front of their own goal line, so that it was comparatively easy for lh. crimson players to push the boll over. Harvard Bewildered. One of the Harvard goals from the touchdown was missed, but little Mount Pleasant, the Indian quarterback, kicked three out of four attempts.

i The play was one of the most sensa- tional seen on Soldiers' tield for many years. The Indian quarterback caught a Harvard punt on ills own thlrly-flve yard line and dashed straight for the assembling players. It seemed a hazardous play, but ho proved too slippery for the Crimson men and went through Ihe greater portion of the Harvard eleven like a greased pig ami after shaking himself clear lie eluded Newhail, who stood be-iween him and the goal and then dashed for Ihu Una. Forward Pass Effective. The other three Indian touehdow-ns were made through their success in carrying off the iorward pass.

The first Harvard-score came through a fumble by Carlisle on their own seven yard line and two Crimson rushes lollewi d. More brilliant play followed for ihe next few minutes on the part of Cnrlisle during which ihere was futile attempt at a goal from the field. Finally the Indians secured the bill on the Crimson forty yard line and rushed il to the twenly-iive yard line on a delayed pass. Another forward pass sent it to tho ten yard line nml after two piniwws in tins center Mount Pleasant again signaled for the new play and the ball was tossed directly to the goal line, far oul of reach of Harvard players, none of whom were anticipating such a play. I Caplain Parker's goal from the Held rjime soon aftir tun brought the eoc.ro up to 12 to TO nt the end of the tltst half.

In the second half, alter Mount I'leiis-nnt's sensational dash for a touchdown, came the only Harvard rally in the game. From Carlisle's fifty yard line Harvard pushed the Indians steadily back twenty-live yards, where a forward pass was nl-lempled and muffed by a Carlisle player. Harvard recovered the ball on the Indian's live yard line and rushed It across In three plays. AHer this the Indian goal was never In danger. Tills was followed by another forward pa and- score.
