Monday at Macksburg United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Moon Cemetery in Macksburg. Mrs. Thrailkill was born in Earl-ham and lived in Madison County all her life. She was a retired teacher and a member of United Methodist Women, Hawthorne Rebekah Lodge and the Women's Relief Corps.

Surviving are her husband, Maurice; two sons, Ramon of Rogers, and George of Winterset; two daughters, Nila Geisel of Arlington, Texas, and Lila Huffman of Sidney, a brother, Richard Imboden of Sun City West, a sister, Ona Nelson of Nevada; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Palo Alto Cemetery south of Newton. Mr. Farland was born in Killduff and lived in Newton most of his life. He retired as manager of quality control at the Vernon Company and was a member of the Lutheran Church, Newton Elks Lodge, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Jasper County Historical Society. Surviving are his wife, Billie Jean; two sons, Dennis and Reg, and a daughter, Beth Smith, all of Newton; three brothers, Ronn of Sacramento, and Clifford and James, both of Newton; five sisters, Marjorie Kil-burn of West Union, Jean Dillin of Marengo, Marilyn Greene of Las Vegas, and Alberta Doane and LaVonne Thorson, both of Newton; four grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

Gieske, 77, of 7085 S.E. Bloomfield Road died of cancer Thursday at Des Moines General Hospital. The body was cremated and memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the English Lutheran Church in Lenox, S.D. Mrs.

Gieske was born in New Ef-fington, S.D., and moved to Des Moines in 1992. She was a homemak-er. Surviving are her husband, Clarence three sons, Michael of Winona, Clarence of Denver, and John of Des Moines; a brother, Lyle Howg of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Faye Wesley Brandt, 76, of Nevada died of cancer Thursday at Story County Long Term Care. Services will be at 1 1 a.m. Monday at Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada, with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Hubbard Cemetery. Mr.

Brandt was born in Hubbard and lived in Nevada 38 years. He retired as manager and abstractor for Batman-Sayers Abstract Co. and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. A daughter, Lori Fuqua of Des Moines, survives. Friends may call after noon Sunday at Chet Ryan Mortuary, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m.

Retta Spencer, 94, of Indianapolis, died of a heart ailment there Wednesday. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, and burial will be at Breckenridge Cemetery in Marion County. Mrs. Spencer was born in Albia and lived in Indiana 11 years, coming from Harvey.

She was a home-maker. A daughter, Pauline Spencer of Indianapolis, survives. Friends may call until service time' at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Evans-McCleery Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Foster was born in Mount Pleasant and worked for American Republic Insurance Co. in Des Moines 15 years. He is survived by his mother, Wil-ma Jean Foster, and his grandmothers, Blanche Foster and Agnes Chri-singer, all of Mount Pleasant; and two brothers, Mark of Mount Pleasant and Brent of LaPine, Ore. Katherlne E. Kinney, 76, of Og- den died of cancer Thursday at her daughter's home in Ogden. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Carson Funeral Home in Ogden. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Kinney was born in Catletts-burg, and came to Iowa in 1945, living in Perry. She moved to Ogden in 1971 after living in Kansas, and she retired from Woodward State Hospital. Among survivors are a daughter, Reita Smith; a son, Wallace Blair of Ogden; a brother, J.C. Robinson of Catlettsburg; a sister, Dehlia Muncy of Ashland, 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Following retirement he served First United Methodist Church in Brooklyn and Newton Congregational United Church of Christ. He was a member of Methodist Men, Newton Noon Kiwanis Club and Jasper County Fine Arts. Surviving are his wife, Myra; a son, Paul of Newton; a daughter, Su-sanne Dodder of Parker, and four grandchildren. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Sunday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church's organ and music fund, the Jasper County Historical Society or Jasper County Concert Association, of which he was a member. Lloyd M. Jackson, 83, of Ames died of cancer Wednesday at North-crest Retirement Community.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Stevens Memorial Chapel, and burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Jackson was born in New Sharon and moved to Ames in 1941. He retired after 47 years as a pre-de-sign engineer with the Iowa Highway: Commission and had been a member of First United Methodist Church, Iowa Engineering Society and Ames Elks Lodge.
