DECEMBER'S TVMOVIES IM's hot 'Brady Bunch' returns for the holidays Here's the story of a man named Bra irn nin rTsYr? I jLJ It Jdy I dy, whose family gets together once again Three generations of the Brady Bunch come together at the Brady abode for A Very Brady Christmas on CBS. All the original actors will reprise their roles except the youngest one (in curls). Jennifer Runyon plays Cindy, t. replacing Susan Olsen, who was on her real-life honeymoon during filming. "I haven't had as much fun in ages," says Robert Reed, who played Dad Mike in the popular series that went off the air in 1974.

"We really are like a family, as corny as that sounds. I have more paternal feelings toward them than I do my own children." Movie mania sets in during the holiday season, when film companies bring out their best and brightest One you won't want to miss if only because you've been waiting so long is Rainman, starring Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman. Rainman has been in rewrite stages for two years.

And no less than four directors have worked on it from Martin Brest (Beverly Hills Cop) to Steven Spielberg to Sidney Pollack (Out of Africa, Tootsie) and, finally, Barry Le- vinson Good Morning Vietnam). The film features Hoffman as an au tistic idiot savant who just inherited $3 million and Cruise as his scheming brother. And that's where the problem ensued in the original script the brothers were only a few years apart in age. When Cruise, 26, and Hoffman, 51, were cast, a major rewrite was needed.
