Cooney of Palm Beach, a neurosurgeon who practiced in West Palm Beach for 24 years, has died from complications following heart surgery. He was 66. Dr. Cooney became the first neurosurgeon in West Palm Beach when he moved to the city in 1954. He was in active medical practice up to the time of his death Monday in Birmingham, Ala.

Dr. Cooney was on the medical staff of St. Mary's ma MARY MORRIS Age 74, of 422 S.W. 4th Ave, Delray Beach. Fla passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 17, at Bethesda Hospital.

She was a resident ol Delray Beach for 43 years, coming from Newington. Georgia. She is survived by a loving and devoted family, including five daughters, Mary Belder, Lula Scipyio, Willene Morris, Margaret Morris and Claiemla Morris; two sons, Johnnie Morris and Roosevelt Morris all of Delray Beach; 21 grandchildren; 28 peat-grandchildren: four great-great grandchildren; and two greal great-great grandchildren: two SLsteis, Louise Jacobs and Bertha Hardy both of Delray; one son-in-law; four brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; two close friends, Mr. and Mi's. Israel Chance o( Dell-ay; and host of nieces, nephews, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21, 1988. 2p.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church with Reverend H. Thomas.

He was 94. Dr. James F. Cooney of Palm Beach died Monday, April 18th from complications following heart surgery in Birmingham, Alabama, he was 66 years old. Dr Cooney practiced neurosurgery in West Palm Beach for 34 years and was in active practice at the time of his death. He was horn in Milford.

Massachusetts on December 13, 1921. He attended Harvard University and graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1942. After graduating from Yale Medical School in 1946 he served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and Medical Officer at St. Alban Medical Center in Long Island, New York and on the U.S.S.

Rochester in the Mediterranean. After Military Service, he taught neuro-anatomy at Flower and Fifth Medical College in New York City. From 1950 to 1954 he studied Neurosurgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. When he moved to West Palm Beach In April of 1954 he became the first neurosurgeon to practice in Palm Beach County. He served as President of the Palm Beach County Medical Society In 1962 and as President of the Florida Neuro-Surgical Society.

He was on the Medical Staff at St. Mary's Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital both in West Palm Beach and was a member of the Palm Beach County Medical Society and the Rotary Club of Palm Beach. Dr. Cooney was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary in 1979. He Is survived by his eight children.

MARY LUCILLE FOSTER Mrs. Foster. 87 years old of West Palm Beach died Sunday, April 17th after an extended Illness. She was the widow of the late Francis H. Foster.

Sr. who died in January ol 1973. Mrs. Foster had been a resident of West Palm Beach since 1926 coming here from Opelika, Alabama and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach. Survivors include her son, Francis H.
