Every freshman entering the State college here is assigned to an upper classman, who acts as a "big sister" lo the new girl. The "big sister" is, in a way, responsible for her "little Mster," and, throughout the year, assists the new girl in her work' and college activities. The.Y. AV. C.

The, "big sis-j tt'r" then writes a letter of welcome I tii the girl and offers any sug-I gesttions that may be help to Ihe girl upon her arrival at the college. During the first week of the school the Y. AV. C.

Everything- is dune to make the fresh-' man feel that she is not amon; strangers but with a group of girls having the same interests and work-ins towards the same goal. The "Big Sister-Little Sister" plan is one of the many ways the older Strls strive to eliminate homesick-i ss among the new girls and to 'eep them Interested in the work lid activities of the school. If a freshman falls down in her work, it is the diitv of the big sister to visit i 'he instructors and find out the of the failure and then to talk Hie trouble over with the freshman and help her to Improve her work.
