COWAN GENERAL CONTRACTOR ALGONA, IOWA FREE GIFTS FOR ALL - Men, Ladies and , Too At Algona Mayor To Cut Door Ribbons Friday Starts Big 8-Day S & L Celebration 'At a special ceremony for the "Grand Opening" of the newly- remodeled S & L Store here Friday morning, Mayor C. C. Shierk will cut the ribbons at the store's front entrance, signaling the formal opening. It is expected that the Mayor will apply the shears promptly at' 9:59 A.M., and first day Visitors to the store are cordially invited to witness the cer- ^emonies. The Mayor will be accompanied by Chamber of Commerce officials, and a number of store officials, headed by Frank Riley, S & L store manager. , .Opening at 10 O'clock Following the door-opening, the store will be thrown open at 10:00 A.M. this coming Friday morning for the first of an eight flay' long celebration. A large array of features has been planned by S & L, headed off by Free Gifts to all store visitors — men, women, and children. These free gifts for everyone are being augmented by registration for other valuable free merchandise gifts, and also, according to Manager Riley, S & L Merchandise Certi- ^ ficates .in various denomination? will be awarded daily throughout the Grand Opening event. Parade of Living Models A unique Grand Opening feature will be a parade of living models, from the Algona chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, throughout both Friday and Saturday. These models will exhibit the latest' in summer fashions, and will parade informally through the S & L store. According to Mr Riley, this is one of the greatest celebrations of its type ever staged in the S & L Stores organization, and plans are being made to handle an overflow crowd of visitors beginning at 10:00 A.M. Friday morning. S & L will be open until 9:00 P.M. Friday evening. S&L IS BRIGHT WITH LIGHT!
