The reception was at River Heights Clubhouse, DeKalb. The wedding trip was a Caribbean cruise, followed by a meandering land cruise of Wisconsin. The bride is a graduate of Western Illinois University in political science. She did graduate work in public administration. She is employed as director of the Information Management Office for DeKalb County Government. The groom is a graduate of Iowa State University in accounting and economics. He is employed as Deputy County Administrator for DeKalb County Government. The couple's current hometown is DeKalb. HANSON Joan Berkes of DeKalb and Gary Hanson of DeKalb were married July 20, 2001, at Christ the Teacher Parish in DeKalb. The bride is the daughter of Eva A. Berkes of DeKalb and the late Robert G. Berkes. The groom is the son of the late Howard and Gertrude Hanson of West Union, Iowa. Janet Berkes of DeKalb, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. Other attendants were Jane Lawson of Rockford and Julia Berkes of DeKalb, both sisters of the bride; and Emily Lawson of Rockford, niece of the bride. Breanna and Meghan Hanson of Rochester, Minn., nieces of the groom, were the flower girls. Karen Grush of DeKalb, a friend of the groom, was the best "man." Groomsmen were Roger Scott of DeKalb, Tim O'Shaughnessy of Sycamore, and Brad Burzynski of Sycamore, all friends of the groom. Shannon Tyrrell John Alamia TYRRELL-ALAMIA Shannon L. Tyrrell and John M. Alamia, both of DeKalb, are engaged to be married Oct. 13, 2001, at Chapel in the Pines in Sycamore. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mike and Connie Smith of DeKalb and Tom and Vicky Tyrrell of Sycamore. Her fiance is the son of Moises and Gloria Pizano. Tyrrell is a 1995 graduate of DeKalb High School. She is employed by Children's Learning Center and Northwest Podiatry Center. Alamia is a 1995 graduate of DeKalb High School and is employed by Northern Illinois University. Mr. and Mrs. Milan Sulaver 50TH ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Milan Sulaver of DeKalb will celebrate their 50th anniversary by taking a trip to Alaska in September. Corinne Ritter married Milan Sulaver on Sept. 8, 1951, at Somonauk United Presbyterian Church, Somonauk. They have four children: Michael (Rosemary) Sulaver of San Jose, Calif., Randy (Judy) Sulaver of Dearborn, Mich., Steven (Patricia) Sulaver of Cortland, and Debra ( Richard ) Stevens of Jacksonville. They also have eight grandchildren. Please omit gifts. On Campus Matthew Baumgart of DeKalb was named to the University of Chicago Dean's List for the 2000-2001 academic year. Baumgart, recipient of the University of Chicago College Honors Scholarship, is a 1999 graduate of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora. He is working at Fermilab this summer and will begin his third year of study this fall as a physics major. He is the son of Joseph and Cynthia Baumgart. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Hanson Mason R. Walt of Moline, nephew of the bride, and Jeff Berge of Tipton, Iowa, cousin of the groom, served as ushers. The Rev. Andrew J. Plesa of Klgin, a relative of the bride, and the Rev.
