May 9, (la.) Gore/on Winkel Weds At Emmetsburg On May 4 Mr and Mrs Gordon L. Winkel of Algona, who were married Saturday, May 4, at 9 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Catholic church at Emmetsburg, are shown in the above photo Fr. Mason officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mary Ann McCarter served as maid of honor, while Lavonne Winkel was bridesmaid. Arthur Winkel was best man and Donald Winkel groomsman. Ushers included Eldon Winkel and Cletus Elbert. Jerry Meedam was soloist. A reception for 300 guests was held following the ceremony al the Emmetsburg country club. The wedding dinner was held at 12:30 p.m. The new Mrs Winkel is the former Delores Hammes, daughter of Mrs John Hammes of Emmetsburg. She attended Emmetsburg Catholic and graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing at Fort Dodge. She is at present employed as a registered nurse at St. Ann hopsital here. Mr Winkel attended St. Cecelia Academy find gradu$!:,«!ji$rftill» lo^tfUnivcr- sity's law school. He is ,a member of the .law firm of Winkel and Winkel and is Kossuth county attorney. He served in the U.S. Marines. The newlyweds are at present traveling in the west, including a stop at Yellowstone National Park, and will live in the Morck apartments when they return to Algona. (Glenn's Studi Photo-UDM Engraving) Sixth Birthday Mr and Mrs Floyd Weishaar entertained at a party Sunday afternoon in honor of the sixth birthday of their son Gary. In attendance were the other son Rickie and Eddie, Diane and Joe, children of Mr and Mrs Ed Weishaar, Frankie, Donie and Ronnie Heinen, David, Larry, Paulettc and Carla Peter, Russell and Verdien Shaw, Jolene, Cheryl and Darwin Hill, Vickie fitalzer Roberta, Susan, Darlene and Carol Thompson. Adult guests were Mr and Mrs Kenneth Hill Mr and Mrs Ed Weishaar, Mr and Mrs Ferman Heinen, Mr and Mrs Carl Peter, Mr and Mrs Albert Weishaar, Geraldine Weishaar Eldon* Shaw and Mark Shaw Guests who joined the Floyd Weishaars in the evening were Mr Weishaar's brother-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs John Rudisill and Jim of Woden. Bridal Shower Mrs William Dodds, Mrs J. B. Winkel, Mrs Mamie Winkel, Mrs- Ray Schilmoeller and Mrs H. W. Stebritz gave a miscellaneous shower a week ago Monday for Delores Hammes who was married Saturday morning to Gordon Winkel of Algona in the Catholic church at Emmetsburg. Mother-Daughter Tea The V-F.W. Auxiliary gave a •Mothers and Daughters tea Tuesday evening at. the hall. Those on the committee were Alice Ditsworth, Zelma Johnson, Alma Marshall, Wilma Strayer, Frances Wiese and Gayle Zender. Legion Auxiliary American Legion Auxiliary will meet at the Legion hall Monday evening, May 13, at 8. Mrs Fern Peterson of Swea City, Kossuth County president, will be guest speaker. All members are urged to attend. Birthday Dinner Mr .and Mrs Don Wood are having Mr and Mrs Joe Besten- lelmor as dinner guests Thursday evening (tonight) in honor of the birthday of Mrs Bestenlehner, mother of Mr Wood.
