D8-The Post, Thursday, April 18, 1985 TANK IFNABIARA by Jeff Millar Bill Hinds 1 Doctors Find Fracture In Hearns' Right Hand Thomas Hearns suffered multiple fractures in his right hand in his middlweight championship boxing loss to Marvin Hagler Monday night in Las Vegas, Nev. Hearns, the World Boxing Council super Curren came back in the sixth game and broke Mayer again in the 10th game to win the match with a backhand top-spin winner at the first match point. "This is the only clay tournament I'm playing so I'm not expecting to do too well," Curren said. "I'll just take them one match at a time and see what happens." Lloyd, ranked 47th in the world, said of his match against the ninth-ranked Cash: "It was like an oven out there. I think conditioning will decide a lot of matches this week.

Slusher in on Kosar Dealings welterweight champion, was stopped in the third round by Hagler, the undisputed middleweight champion. Hearns apparently suffered the injury when he struck Hagler's head with a right uppercut in the first round, said promoter Bob Arum. Atlantic Coast Conference athletic directors have come to the conclusion that what people can't see can't hurt their programs.

In reaction to the recent turmoil at Tulane, where officials are close to dropping basketball after alleged point shaving, cocaine dealings, and payoffs to athletes, the ACC athletic directors have suggested that newpapers no longer publish betting lines, odds, or anything that would act as an aid to the bettor or bookie, in order to solve at least part of the problem. North Carolina's John jwofford said the eight athletic directors had discussed the issue I briefly in the past, but the Tulane situation "sort of brought things to -light." Laszlo Denes 4 his clients to hold out for better-paying contracts, showed up Tuesday in New York for a meeting with NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle as legal counsel for the Oilers.
