MAGNOLIA STATION WHOLESALE RETAIL In town and country neighbor go of friendship andgooc May you the To you blessings of warmth and bCTolenc our Sharpe Dry Goods Co IC COMPANY OKIAH 1 pasture 60 acres art and this In demand Outdoor Decorations Began in Small Towns Today nearly every community in the land has some kind of out door Christmas decorations and in nearly every big city you can find two or three spectacular displays It was a small town that first came up with the idea of lighting up the outdoors at Christmas time but no one is quite sure which town gets credit tor the idea our communities are believed to have thought ot it about the same time as early as 1913 Two of them McDonald and German town are in Pennsylvania Salem Ore decorated a Sitka spruce and Riverside Calif illuminated a large evergreen an Aracuria OICE OR RENT: 390 acre good four room house and of farm land Rosendahl LORIDA STYLE Christmas ta lorida toe Bat white Bead moat sabstltate tor snow a sea gtape for an ever green but what's the difference when two snch expert and lovely decorators are on the scene what I can to keep these strong forces pulling in the same direction When that happens we make real progress for all Oklahoma It can usually be done If all points of view are fully considered before a project Is begun sur prising how often opposition de velops just because someone was left out of the original planning conferences As we prepare to enter a newz year I think important for every Oklahoma community in terested in greater development to remember that a helping hand from their neighbors both big and small is worth having And he who would receive must also be willing to give If this spirit of cooperation so common during the present holi day season con be stretched to last through 1956 it will be the finest Christmas gift Oklahoma can receive May th peace and happiaeia symbolUed by the Star ol Christmas remain with you throughout the Holiday Season yopn tkis ChrutmasbrigRt xnd tafe OrXtmas tKime 7 7 7 I I Tfee Spirit Christmi belong to everyone 'its sacred trust I no boundaries of race or by RAYMOND GARY Too bad we can't bottle up some of the wonderful Christmas spirit now found everywhere in Okla hama It would come In mighty handy later or example It might be used in proper dosage to keep un necessary wounds from developing during the coming political season Nobody has yet found a better guide for living than the univer sal Christmas on earth good will toward No one person of course can bring peace on earth But we can keep peace within ourselves which helps We can' also maintain a feeling ot good will toward others even those with whom we disagree It always easy but I think we gain when we do I know Oklahoma Is better off whatever goal we strive for when individuals and communities work together without envy Too much worry about who Is "running or who gets "most of the will defeat a project be fore it gets started If any part of Oklahoma bene fits and nobody Is then I say the project Is worthy support of every state citizen When one group in the state enjoys some ex tra prosperity you can be sure part of It will be passed around Needless to say we al ways had the kind of cooperation desired between rural communities and metropolitan centers of Okla homa Too often they are overly suspicious of each other In such cases conflict is inevitable But more times than not their in terests are identical Yet there re mains a tendency for each group to go it alone The metropolitan centers should remember they likely to get something which is vigorous ly opposed by all of rural Okla homa By the same token rural communities will find the going tough if city interests put on an all out fight against something they want As governor my job is to do Caroling across the snow And hearts and homes are opened wid To 1st the lonely come inside Stars like frosty snowflakes are still as though they listed or the' far off bell
