The following from Monday's Du- Quoin Herald will be of interest to a considerable number of Carbondale people who have been in the habit of fishing' at the lake near Hallidayboro: In our account Saturday we stated that an unconfirmed report said that fishing would be stopped at Hallidayboro lake. This is true, as our representative saw General Manager James Forester in this city Saturday night and when asked about it he stated that the DuQuoin Gun Club has leased the lake and would take charge of it after this week. This has been the ideal fishing spot for the citizens in this vicinity even people from Centralia and Cairo visited the place, and now, as their sport has been stopped, it will be regretted by very one. What their idea was to lease the lake we do not know but of course this is the Muddy Valley Mining Manufacturing business, not ours, and now that the gun club has got everything their own way we trust they will enjoy themselves to the fullest extent.
