Announced Mr. and Mrs. Albert G. Snyder, Richland Route 1, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Eleanor, to George A. Heller son of Mrs.

Esther L. Heller, of 313 Oak Court, Myerstown. Miss Snyder is a senior in Myerstown High School. Mr. Heller is an alumnus of Lebanon High School, class of 1952, and is employed by Lustberg Nast Lebanon.

4 Special Events Held At Hospital A Christmas parly, a social, bowling and a variety show were conducted for the entertainment of patients at the local Veterans Administration Hospital over the i weekend. The annual Christmas party der the auspices the CIO Industrial Council of Lebanon took place on Saturday evening in the social rcom of the Special Services Building. Featured on the program was Elmer Sweeney at the piano and organ. About 100 patients attended. Carols were sung and freshments were served.

The Rev. and Mrs. Peter S. Heisey, of Sheridan R. 1, are receiving congratulations from many friends and acquaintances today as they observe their fiftieth Rev.

wedding anniversary. Heisey, a retired farmer, has been associated with the ministry of the Heidelberg Church of the Brethren for almost 30 years. Hie is the father of two other Church of the Brethren Sheridan clergymen, Enos B. Heisey, R. and Ralph B.

And all in time Christmas. Tonight will be the most wonderful Christmas Eve of all for Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Bruscia of 73 West Granada Hershey, and for Mario Vicei, whom they hope to make their legally adopted son.

Mario will receive his Christmas gifts from his new parents tonight. It will be the first such experience in his life. The Bruscias, childless and trying for the last year and a half 16 adopt an Italian child. They had the help of Rev. William Bridey, head of Catholic Charities, in Mayan, Harrisburg; rector of Rev.

St. Jcan of Are Church, Hershey, and Rev. Dominic assistant rector, in having Mario brought to' this country a few weeks ago. Mario was flown from Italy to the Idlewild Airport in New York City, and from there to. the Harrisburg Airport, where he was met by Mr.

and Mrs. Bruscia. The little boy has no known relatives. At the end of a year's quirements are met, the couple hopes to adopt the child legally. Mario lived in an orphanage abroad from babyhood.

Although he received all the care possible under the circumstances, he has never before known the warmth of family love or the pride of ownership. Neighbors and friends of the Bruscias have been calling with gifts for the boy. As both Mr. and Mrs. Bruscia are American-born of Italian parentage, little Mario need not wrestle immediate with all the complexities of the English language he speaks only Italian), But it won't be long until.

Ulrich-Bomgardner Rites Solemnized In EUB Church The -marriage of Miss Lois Elaine Bomgardner of Palmyra and Second Lieutenant, U. Foster S. Marinera and Corps, Quan- of tico, was solduring a ceremony, at seven Salurday evening. Rev. Melvin Patrick officiated at the double ring service in the Sceond Evangelical United Brethren Church, Palmyra.

The church was decorated with candelabra and altar vases filled with 'mums. A bridal carpet and knecling bench were used for the service. James Sellzer, cousin of the bride, served as acolyte. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

G. Paul Bomgardner of 603 North Railroad St. The groom's parents are Ar, and Mrs. Foster G. Ulrich of 500 South Railroad St.

Oul-of-town guests attended from New Jersey, Ohio, Lancaster, State College, town, Philadelphia, Hershey and Lebanon. A 30-minute recital was presented by Mrs. Glenn Palmyra, cousin of the bride, organist, and Howard Phillippy of Palmyra, the bride's uncle, soloist. Miss Sally Heilman of Annville, college roommate of the bride, as maid of honor, wore a blue velveteen princess dress. John Umberger made the arrangements. About 500 patients witnessed a variety show, "Holiday Kapers" last evening in the auditorium. The program was sponsored by the Military Order of Cootie, Pun Tent 45 of York. Arrangements were made by Richard Forrey, hospital VAVS representative. Witters exchanged marriage vows during a ceremony at seven o'clock Saturday evening in the Church of the Brethren at Palmyra. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob N. Smith; of Annville Route 1.

The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. John W. Witters of Ephrata Route 2. Rev.

Frank S. Carper officiated at the service at an altar decorated with candles. palms and ferns. Music was provided by Mrs. Ken-1 neth Frey, organist and John Grace soloist.

The bride's father presented her in marriage. She wore al gown of Chantilly lace in floorlength. It was styled with a Sabrina neckline, long, tapering sleeves and full skirt in three layers of lacc. Her veil of net was held by a crown of seed pearls. Attending the bride were Miss Meyer, as maid of honor; Miss Janice Fake and Bliss Jane McCullough, as maids, and Miss Nancy Smith, cousin of the bride, as flower girl.

Miss Meyer and bridesmaids are all friends of the bride. The four attendants wore waltzlength gowns of red velveteen. They carried white fur mulls and had matching headpieces of white fur.
