Mrs. George M. Hickey, chairman, moderated the panel. Mrs.

Thom is the only woman to be an officer of Local 95, UAW-CIO where she acts as secretary, and also holds an appointment on the steering committee of Region 10, AFL-CIO. She is a member of the women's special projects committee. Mrs. Helland told of the ways citizenship is stressed in the Girl Scout movement, through badge work, troop and camp government and ceremonies. Mrs.

Helland noted that Girl Scouts is 99 per cent volunteer and 1 per cent professional. Miss Waterman told how women members of the Democratic party assist candidates, officeholders and party officers. All three panelists noted that being a volunteer is a vital part of any organization.
