The minutes of meeting held Dtc. 26 were read and approved. Building permits were granted to Jim Whittemore and Helen McEnroe. John McGuire offer to purchase City owned land was placed on file in the City Clerks office. Gas contract between City of Algona and Ky's Oil Co. was read and accepted. Purchase of a new police car was discussed. Beer permit was granted to Frank and Em's Place. Following wage scale was adopted. Following claims were allowed. Special meeting of the City Council for the hearing on the matter of adoption of the-Milk Ordinance was held Jan. 16, 1957. Also present were Mr. Lehmann -of Lohmann's Dairy, Martin Huber of Brown's Dairy, and Mr. Smith, state milk inspector. After considerable discussion and that no representative of the sponsor of the proposed ordinance were present no action was taken at this time. Lewis Ferguson's letter stating that he wish to resign Jan. 31 instead of March 1, 1957 was read and accepted.
