FOUR THE TIMES — Hometown newspaper of Brookshire and Katy, Texas Oklahoma Is Home For Newlywed Pair, The Busches Bclva Gayle Fussell. daughter of Mrs. Blanche Fussell and Mr. Gordon Fussclt of Kaly and Roland Paul (Buzz) Busch son of Reverend and Mrs. Otlo Busch of Baxter Springs. Kansas exchanged marriage vows September 24 in the lovely home of the bride's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Jordan of Kaly. The candlelight rite was performed by Reverend Otto Busch. Mrs. Lylo Jordan accompanied by Mrs. Milton Schmidt, was the soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length a-line gown of champagne lace, the empire waistline, slightly scooped neckline and puffed sleeves were trimmed with seed pearls. Mrs. Hank Schmidt, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Sandy wore a full- length multi-colored chiffon gown and carried a single long-stemmed Tropicana rose. Lorale and LeGay Wiesner, nieces of the bride, served as flower girls wearing blue and yellow whipped cream dresses and carrying baskets filled with yellow, orange, and blue flowers. Roy Wiesner, brother-in-law of the bride, acted as best man and guests were ushered by the bride's cousin Marc Jordan. The newlyweds greeted guests during a reception held in the spacious dining room. In the center of the bride's table was a crystal and silver epergne, each bowl holding a white taper candle surrounded by Tropicana and yellow roses. Theresa Jordan, cousin of the bride, served the three-tiered cake adorned with satin bells, white doves and fresh yellow roses. The new Mrs. Buzz Busch attended Katy High School and her husband, a 1971 graduate of Katy High School, plans to attend Poteau Community College on a basketball scholarship in January. They are at home in Poteau, Oklahoma. Literary Clab Has 41st Birthday The Katy Literary Club celebrated its 41st birthday with an Anniversary Luncheon at the home of Mrs. Arthur Robichaux with Mrs, Albert Thompson and Mrs. Halden Longenbaugh as assistant hostesses. Three lovely laid tables centered with arrangements of the club flower, pink roses, accommodated 26 members and 2 guests whose well filled plates were served buffet- style in the breakfast room. After the feasting the ladies assembled in the living room and listened to a most interesting and informative history of the club for the past year read by Mrs. Chester Jordan, Mrs. Carey Pitts then led an informal discussion on "Reflections"—many amusing and embarrassing events were recalled that happened during the last forty years. Among those present were 4 charter members, one of whom was Mrs. C. W. Morrow who was also the first president of the club. The other charter members were Mrs. R. Doris Sfonbefry Doris Stanberry Appointed Asist. Katy Postmaster Mrs. Doris Stanberry has been appointed Assistant to the Postmaster at Katy, Texas. This position was formerly held by R.E. Chancy until his appointment to Postmaster. The appointment is made on qualifications following consideration of the bids turned in. Mrs. Stanberry has close to six years service in the Post Office Dept. and has worked as both a clerk and a letter carrier. Doris, born and reared in Katy. the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Beckendorff, is a 1953 graduate of Katy High School and attended the Apostolic Faith Bible College in Baxter Springs, Kansas. She and her husband Buddy, also a lifetime resident of Katy, have four children, Teloa, La Tonna, Tawanna and Tyron, They are members of the Apostolic Faith Church of Katy. Crib Topics A beautiful little girl, Nicole (Nikki) LeAnne Fishbeck is getting lots of attention at the Franklin Flshbecks' at 319 Hereford Drive, in Brookshire. Nikki weighed 7 Ib. and was 19 inches long. She arrived at 7:53 Thursday October 8th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe Etzler of Hallettsville and Mr. and Mrs, Jim Fishbeck of Moulton. Theresa Jordan Performs In Houston Baptist College Play Theresa Jordan has continued her Interest in dramatic activity as a freshman at Houston Baptist College, Theresa played the role of Achillee in An Italian Straw Hat, directed by Dr, J. Talley. Members of the Katy High School Drama Club, The Red Masque Players, attended the play Tuesday night and visited backstage with Theresa after ' the performance. While a student at Katy High School, Theresa performed in numerous plays over a four-year period. Among her many honors were * Best Actress at the State Meet" In 1969 and All-Star Cast member at the 1970 State one- act play contest.
