Phillips of Orchard and Nolan James Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edes Touchet of Rrookshire. were married in a candlelight ceremony Friday evening, 7:00 o'clock. July 10, 1071.

DR- Roch, Randy Bi-ast. On July 6, Pat and Bill Tingle drove to Dallas, to join the Carr-Dulaney Tour of Hawaii. The tour left Love Field at 1:50 in two 707 Braniff planes; arriving in Hawaii at 5:45 (Hawaii Time). We were taken by bus to the Ambassador Hotel where we were given our room mimtrers. We happened to be assigned to the Waikiki Gateway Hotel across the street from the Ambassador.

It was a brand new hotel with very nice spacious rooms. On Tuesday morning the entire group met in the conference room to hear various persons explain the week's option tours Then we were given Unit to sign up for the we had decided to take during the week. Bill and I got of the bus at the Ala Moan: Shopping Center (lit largest center in the world). We ate lunch at the Continental Restaurant therein, choosing Chinese food, which was delicious, and very reasonable. Tuesday evening nlwttt a hundred of the group boarded the Ale Ale Kai a sailing vessel, and and sailed out of the harbor to Diamond Head, an extinct crater. We were served a delicious dinner on board, saw the sun set over the bay, and were entertained with Hawaiian music and songs. Wednesday mot'iiiiiR we boarded mini-buses for the Oceanic Sealife Park tour.

We left tin- city and headed for the windward side of Oalui. traveling through picturesque scenes of mountains, waterfalls, green valleys, and the Wilson Tunnel. Thursday morning Bil and I walked to the Ilikin and Hilton Hawaiian Village area on Waikik Beach. We enjoyed the blue, blue water, cleai sandy beach, and in the hotels.

At 9:30 a lav is production of dancin music, and pageantr was put on by a cast about a hundred younjr people from each culture, in an outside theatre. Ou Friday we didn't have a tour scheduled so we walked to Waikiki Beach in the area of Royal Hawaiian Hotel. We also saw the Kodak Show in that vicinity. Saturday was the big day! We left our hotel at 6:30 a.m. by mini-bus for the airport.

There we boarded Hawaiian Air Tour Service (HATS) planes for the 8 Island tour. The pilot narrated during the whole trip. giving us much information about the islands. Our first stop was on the big island of Hawaii at the Kona airport. There we boarded a sight-seeing bus and had a tour of the fishing village of Kona.

Back on the plane and over Mauna Loa and Kilauea crater, both of which are active volcanos belching forth smoke. From there we flew over the black sand beaches, Hilo, the main city on Hawaii, and across the channel to Maui. Maui is known as the Valley Island and is much greener than Hawaii. Molokai, the Friendly Island, was our stop for lunch. After a delicious buffet lunch at the hotel, we lioarded our plane and flew to the garden Isle of Katiai.

This island is quite green, too. The Iwautiful sight here wns the Waimea Canyon, much like the Grand Can. yon in Arizona. We landed on the eastern side of the isle at the Wailua Airport where we boarded buses that took us to the Wailua River. Here we had a mile bo'at ride down the river to a fern grotto.

Back on our plane and fifty minute ride AdrJeks-Barker 4-H Dross Revwe On June 17 the Harris County Dress Revue was held at the Houston Lighting A Power Company, where all the girls modeled their dresses. The clothes were previously judged at the Harris County Courthouse on their construction. There were nine ilubs that participated. The five girls of Addicks- Barker 4-H Club were Kathy Kolbe, Gail Moers, Claire Smolik, Tassy Giddens and Margaret Williams. Kathy and Margaret won blue ribbons.

Gai! aUo won a blue ribbon and received a present from Foley's for placing second in her group. Tassey and Claire were unable to attend the final judging. This year Foley's picked 15 girls from these nine clubs to sew and model some back-to- school clothes anil Kathy and Gail were chosen. Foley's will furnish the material, pattern, all accessories. The girls will get to keep the garments after they are modeled at Foley's Northwest Auditorium September 18th.
