The Benolent and Protective Order of Elks Award went to Sheryl Hulsey, and Curtis Albert won the Chula Vista Mounted Police award. JESSE7 GARCIA copped the Sweetwater Education Association scholarship, and John Backes, Hawkins, Carla Myers and Roush received scholastic achievement awards.

1 The Richard M. Allen Memorial Award went to Roush, while Beverly Barrett won the Jessie Klicka Foundation Scholarship. Te Rotary Club of Chula Vista presented an award for outstanding scholarship to Hawkins and Miss Barrett, while the outstanding service award was given to Roush. Hawkins presented a check for $500 to Helen Snortland director of Chula Vista Community Hospital, for the John J. DeBello Memorial Fund for cancer therapy equipment.

The youngsters earned the money when the school sponsored an 11-mile Cyclethon, which attracted 80 participants. DeBello, a former member of the hospital's board of directors, died of cancer last year. honors Hall and Glad won Highlander Awards. California Savings and Loan League Outstanding Student Award was presented to Collins. David Bramble won the William Harlan Memorial Scholarship.
