The Buckeyes, 3-1 in the Big Ten and 4-3 overall, jumped ahead by a 14-0 score in the first quarter on the first of Spencer's two five-yard touchdown runs and a 72-yard scoring pass to Cedric Anderson. But the passing of Indiana quarterback Babe Laufenberg, who set school records with 34 completions in 56 attempts for 334 yards and all four Indiana touchdowns, kept the Hoosiers (2-3, 3-4) in contention much of the contest. A 33-yard touchdown pass to John Boyd and an eight-yarder to Duane Gunn pulled Indiana to within 28-13 at halftime. The Ohio State ground attack unstoppable the whole game then went to work on the Hoosier defense in the third quarter.

Tomczak, who also had a 17-yard touchdown pass to Gary Williams, kept the Buckeyes on the ground and moved steadily to the Indiana 20. Spencer, who finished with 187 yards, then picked up 12 before fullback Vaughn Broadnax scored. The Hoosiers' third touchdown, late in the third quarter, came on a 32-yard pass from Laufenberg to Gunn. (AP) Mike Bass kicked a 46-yard field goal on the game's final play, capping a 479-yard passing performance by Illinois' Tony Eason as the Illini rallied for a wild 29-28 victory over Wisconsin in Big Ten college football Saturday. Wisconsin had taken a 28-26 lead with 52 seconds left when wide receiver Al Toon threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jeff Nault. Badger quarterback Randy Wright threw a lateral to Toon, who was set up in the left flat. Wright bounced the ball into the turf, apparently deceiving the Illini into thinking the play was dead.

Toon scooped up the bail and lofted his touchdown pass to Nault, who was behind the coverage at about the five-yard line. But the Illini marched 51 yards in five plays to set up the field goal by Bass, whose kick after a timeout stunned a crowd of 78,406 at Camp Randall. (AP) -Purdue quarterback Scott Campbell scored on a one-yard sneak with 1 minute 30 seconds remaining in the game Saturday to give the Boilermakers a 24-21 Big Ten victory over winless Michigan State. Michigan State, which has now lost five successive conference games for the first time ever, had a 21-14 lead with 3:28 left in the third quarter after a four-yard touchdown run' by Aaron Roberts and a six-yard scamper by Darrin McClelland. However, the Boilermakers got a 25-yard field goal from place-kicker Tim Clark with :32 remaining in the quarter to stay within striking distance. Then Campbell, who completed 24 of 43 passes for 324 yards, engineered the winning drive, covering 92 yards in 10 plays. Campbell, a 6-foot, 194-pound junior, moved into the No.

Craig re-injured after 5 carries in first half Continued from Page One say about it," he softly said. "I've heard what people have said about the replays, but we've gone through this before. I make a weekly report on the officials and will do it this week' Warren Powers, the Missouri coach, is a former Kusker star and assistant coach and there seems to be a very lukewarm friendship, if even that, with Osborne.

Tom made it a point to mention that Powers never shows up to shake hands after the two teams meet. Powers is well informed of Husker reaction, though. As his team left the field and came into the dressing room, a fan yelled, "Cheap shot, Powers. Cheap shot." The coach bristled and said a word that makes a fellow think he was reading Joaquin Andujar's lips Wednesday night during a rhubarb late in the seventh game of the World Series. Others in the Tiger party intervened.

Fortunately. THE HUSKERS came into the game with a 5-1 record and No. 5 ranking in the Associated Press poll, and went against a team that was 3-1-2 after playing successive no-decision contests, the last against Iowa State. What went on display, though, was not the real Nebraska football team. While there has been a rumor that Coach Tom Osborne has an endless supply of I-backs, this is not so.

Rozier, who had amassed more than 200 yards in the previous two games, rang up 139 in 17 tries as a pinch-hitter in a game he wouldn't have played in if not badly needed. Roger Craig, the Davenport senior who moved from fullback to start at I-back, was going great for about five carries until re-injuring an ankle. Then he was gone for the day. Young Jeff Smith had to play a lot. "We talked about starting Rozier and he wanted to start, but we decided it would be bad psychology if he was hurt and done for good after about two plays.

So we decided to put him in at what we thought was the right time and see what Mike could do. "It's pretty obvious what he can do make things happen." At this point, the Huskers are not the super team they seemed destined to be in the opener against Iowa, partly because their defense is not that good and partly because so many offensive stars are banged up. Fullback Mark Schellen, also a reserve, scored on a one-yard run with 4:46 left in the game to cap a 79-yard, 11-play drive that wiped out a 13-9 Missouri lead. Less than a minute later, Nebraska linebacker Brent Evans intercepted a Missouri pass and three plays after that Mathison darted 16 yards for a touchdown with 2:10 remaining. Dupree, making his first start in Oklahoma's multi-faceted backfield, scored his first touchdown on a 30-yard sweep in the first quarter and his second on a two-yard dive with 9 seconds remaining in the third. Ernest Anderson, who had been leading the nation in rushing with an average of 208 yards per game, was held to 59 yards by the Oklahoma defense. The Sooner defense also kept Oklahoma State, now 0-1-2 in the Big Eight and 1-3-2 overall, from scoring a touchdown as the Cowboys got all their points on field goals by sophomore Larry Roach.

Roach narrowed Oklahoma's lead to 6-3 early In the second period, but the Sooners came back on their next possession to score a touchdown that lifted them to a 13-3 advantage at the half. Quarterback Kelly Phelps got the Sooners' second touchdown when he picked up a fumble dropped by Weldon Ledbetter and loped eight yards into the end zone. Oklahoma, 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference, saw its lead cut again in the third quarter when Roach hit a pair of field goals that made the score 13-9. The Sooners were unable to get a first down on the ensuing drive and had to kick. However, Oklahoma State's Stanley Blair dropped the punt and it was recovered by the Sooners at the Oklahoma State 12.
