The citch on the Groat Sinslaw river is a very big one this week. Last Sunday salmon for the first time this year wore seen jumping iu the river and fishermen were gleefully watchiug these movements with an eye that saw many shekels rolling into their before lean aud very lank purses when Monday morning's count should have been made. These same fishermen wore in noway disappointed as one could easily guess as he cast eye over a pile of over 2000 aluion on Mr. Kyle's wharf Monday nioru- ing. This was only the starter for a good week aud perhaps mouth work.

The daily catch for the week has beeu over 2500 fish. The highest catch ol any one boat for ouo night was 270, by Leonard Christ-eusen and Chaa. Russell. Wednesday the cannery commenced salting, aud is putting up an average of thirty barrels per day. This of course is aside from the daily average of three hundred and fifty cases which are canned.

To give a better idea of the business by this one cannery we will say that $1500 is about the amount which each day's catch will bring when placed on the market. The Rose II ill cannery has done even a larger business than has Mr, Kyle. It has employed about thirty-tlve Chinamen and on Tuesday of this Nveek put up G20 cases of salmon. Five hundred is about their daily pack. Aside from their several net fishermen they have a large seine in tho river above Acme which hauls in fish by the wagon bad.

At one haul last Monday one thousand fish were taken out of the net. This cannery is not salting. Motice to Purchasers of tlio Kncyclo-licdiii lirittauica. lour coupons will be received bb 10 per cent, payment on all work done at our stir dio from this date. V.
