Sheriff Cooper informs us that the reason the prisoners now in his charge are not kept in confinement is because the jail is not in a fit sanitary condition for a beast let alone a human being. He has bad a guard to watch the prisoner. it is now Known nun iico. Hudson was thoroughly posted as to the effort in progress against him and lrj kiu-w of the warrant issued for bis arrest. He told several of his friends jbout it and said to one of them that he would be a dead man within two weeks.

It seems to be a fact lhat tiie reason why Gov. Francis granted the delay in the date of Iaiuut's execution was to euable him to make a confession of numerous crimes in which he and Geo. Hudson were mutually implicated. From the dat? thus obtained the authorities were enabled to fasten upon Hudson more than one crime from the conse-queuees of whicH he could not escape as he did in Rolla, and he seems to have made up his mind to stay an.l fight to the death. He is even said to have made arrangements for the disposition of his body.

Facts are now in possession of the law officers which implicate others of Hudson's chuuis. A rumor Jhas gained some currency that Blunt's sentence is to commuted to imprisonment for life on account of his services in aiding to hunt down Hudson.
