DAILY CHRONICLE, Online at NIsite.com and Saturday, February 17, 2001 Daily Record Police Briefs GENOA CITY Jan. 31 Warrant arrests Police were notified by an anonymous complainant that two wanted subjects were at a residence on Hadsall Street. Upon arrival, police arrested Daniel Sutt and Cheryl Morton, age and address unknown for both, on the outstanding warrants. Sutt was released after posting $100 bond. No further information was provided.

Feb. 3 Driving without a valid driver's license After stopping a vehicle for an unsafe driving violation, police learned that Marcos Molina, 31, of Carpentersville did not have a valid driver's license. Molina was charged with driving without a valid driver's license and driving with no insurance. He was released from the scene on bond. Feb.

4 Warrant arrest Police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation just after 7:15 p.m. and later determined that the passenger in the vehicle was wanted on three warrants. Harrold Hammond, 29, of DeKalb was Commodities arrested on the outstanding warrants and taken to the DeKalb County Jail pending $900 bond. Feb. 6 Warrant arrest Genoa police stopped a vehicle for speeding just after 11:30 a.m.

on Main Street and learned a passenger in the vehicle was wanted on a Kane County warrant. James Rowan, 24, of Sandwich was arrested on a failure-to-appear warrant for an unspecified charge and released at the scene after posting $200 bond. Thursday Driving without a valid driver's license Police stopped a vehicle near First and Washington streets at 11 p.m. after a registration check revealed the driver didn't have a valid driver's license. Timothy Gilbert, 38, of Genoa was charged with driving without a valid driver's license and later released on bond.

Walsh, 25, of Genoa was arrested on a Boone County failure-toappear warrant for driving without insurance. She was taken to Boone County Jail pending $270 bond. SANDWICH City Feb. 3 Domestic battery Police were dispatched to a residence on the 1000 block of Church Street to investigate a call of a domestic battery. Upon arrival, police spoke to the victim, who said Judy Haygood, 47, of Sandwich had struck him in the head with a telephone.

The victim alleged that Haygood took the phone from him and refused to let him use it to call 911. Police went to Haygood's residence and charged her with domestic battery and unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence. She was taken to DeKalb County Jail pending bond. I Jamie C. Jordal, 29, of Obituaries VERDELL E. BURKHART LAWSON Verdell E. Burkhart Lawson, 88, of Chana and Steward, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at the Rochelle Community Hospital.

Born Aug. 4, 1912, in Lee County, she was the daughter of Halvor and Anna (Udesen) Gittleson. She married Marvin Burkhart on Feb. 24, 1934, in Sycamore; he preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1975.

She then married Sam Lawson in 1978 in Venton, Iowa; he passed away Feb. 14, 2000. She farmed with her husband Marvin in the Steward area until 1965 and then moved to the Chana farming area. She was a past member of the Rock N' Ride Riders, Ogle County Riders, Green River Saddle Club and the Rock River Ride Association. She is survived by a son, George (Karen) Burkhart of Steward; a daughter, Bernice (Tom) Hagemann of Stillman Valley; eight grandchildren In loving memory of Tommy Hayes who left us one year ago today.
